✨ An event-free weekend looks a little different around here… and we’re soaking it up! ✨

When you’re a family-owned and operated wedding business, weekends can look a LOT like work. So when we have a rare weekend without an event on the calendar, we try to make the most of it and this weekend has been all about the people and things that matter most. ❤️

🎂 Celebrating some family birthdays
🐾 Taking the family dog on a much-needed Petco run (because apparently he needed a shopping trip, too 😂)
☕ Hitting up 7 Brew with my better half
🎲 Having a game night with friends we haven’t seen in WAY too long
🏃‍♂️ 🏅 Cheering on a family member for their amazing accomplishment
🎁 And putting together donation raffle baskets for an amazing cause!

Next week is the WJCIA (Wisconsin Juvenile Court Intake Association) Conference, bringing together professionals who work in youth justice and social services. Someone very special to our family serves on the board, so we were more than happy to put together a few raffle baskets and help support the conference and the important work behind it. 💙

One of the things we love most about being a family-owned and operated business is that we get to build something together, but we also get to remember that there is a whole life outside of the business. Family. Friends. Community. The people who cheer us on, keep us grounded, and remind us to slow down once in a while.

And honestly, we think that's an important reminder when it comes to wedding vendors, too.

Wedding vendors are people. ❤️
We're parents, spouses, sons, daughters, siblings, friends, pet parents, community members… and human beings who sometimes give up a LOT of our own family time to be part of the biggest day of someone else's life.

We absolutely LOVE what we do. We love our couples. We love being part of wedding days and helping make them incredible.

But we also believe there's something really important about taking a weekend off, celebrating a birthday, grabbing coffee with your person, laughing with friends, supporting a cause close to your heart, and simply being present with your own family.

Because taking care of the people behind the business is part of taking care of the business, too. ❤️

So here's to the rare event-free weekends and to making them count!

Over the river and through the woods to Northern Navetta we go!🌲💍

What an incredible day the team and I had helping bring a multi-state Northwoods dream wedding to life!

Sarah and Nick began their perfect day exchanging vows in Eagle River, WI and ended the evening dancing the night away at their reception in Watersmeet, MI. From one beautiful location to the next, it was a day full of love, laughter, and all the Northwoods magic! ✨

Michael and Kennedy joined me for this one, and Kennedy finally got to be part of the best part of the day... the processional! 🥹

It’s literally my favorite moment, and I cry every. single. time. She mastered the delicate timing of opening those doors and revealing the bride, and watching her experience all the feels was pretty darn special. I think she may officially be hooked! ❤️

🎼More than anything... Love is the most powerful magic of all.🪄

On Saturday, Carly and I had the absolute honor of coordinating the wedding of the newly minted Mr. & Mrs. Stumpf!

We are beyond grateful that Erin & Justin chose us and trusted us with one of the most important days of their lives.

First and foremost, we have to thank Mother Nature for cooperating. After watching the forecast all week, we felt incredibly blessed that the weather held out for their beautiful outdoor ceremony at Waverly Beach. There is just something magical about watching two people say "I do" surrounded by family, friends, and sunshine. ☀️

And what a fun couple to celebrate! Erin is a proud Hanson fan through and through, Justin can talk motorcycles, cars, and trucks with the best of them, and together they share a love for all things Harry Potter. Watching the little pieces of who they are woven throughout the day was such a reminder that the best weddings aren't about following trends; they're about celebrating the unique people at the center of it all.

Of course, no Waverly Beach wedding would be complete without their legendary broasted chicken, which absolutely did not disappoint. And for those of you who know Carly, you'll also understand how excited she was that the couple chose cupcakes for dessert. In fact, I'm pretty sure the wedding cake is the only reason she works in weddings in the first place. 🧁

The wedding party was an absolute blast from start to finish. They were so much fun, in fact, that by the end of the weekend they had given me a brand-new nickname: "Bruce," after the ultimate legendary Boss himself, Bruce Springsteen. Honestly, I think it might stick. It was especially meaningful because my late grandfather's name was Bruce, too, and I'd like to think at least a little bit of my relentless work ethic came from him.

Sometimes I wish I had a professional photographer in my back pocket to follow me around and take all the cool shots of what we do so I can showcase it for future or potential clients, or that I was a little bit better at branding myself. But the truth is... your wedding day isn't about me.
It's about you.
And honestly, the last thing I'm thinking about is taking pictures of everything I did so I can brag about it later.
I might get a second to snap a shot here or there, but I promise you... it won't look professional and it won't be staged because when it comes down to it, I'm too busy living in your best moments right along with you. 🤍
