INSIDE WE GO! It’s going to be a historic night of bluegrass, and we didn’t want to risk it. The rain has been too “iffy”. Please leave your chairs at home, we’ll have seating for you. ❤️

The good news is, we go air conditioning, and lots of food (Cornhusker Beef) and cold beer and beverages! Let’s throw an old school Hootenanny! 🙌🤩🙌

We’ll be inside the Veteran’s Memorial Building 810 1st Corso, downtown Nebraska City! Doors at 4pm, show starts at 4:30pm!

We’ll be making a call on the weather, if we move the festival indoors or keep it outdoors, by 1pm Saturday, June 6th.

Stay tuned, and cross your fingers the rain stays away! Either way, it’s going to be AN AMAZING DAY OF MUSIC!

Music starts at 4:30! Check it out.

Headlining this incredible night are Grammy Award winners Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley. Ickes, a 15-time IBMA Dobro Player of the Year, and Hensley, a prodigy guitarist and powerhouse vocalist, have been blending bluegrass, blues, and country into one blazing acoustic force since 2015. Known for their white-hot picking and jaw-dropping musicianship, they’ve earned Grammy nominations for albums like 'Before the Sun Goes Down' and took home a 2025 Grammy as part of the Taj Mahal Sextet. Nashville polish meets mountain-fire intensity, and it is something to witness in person.

Sharing the stage:
• Lloyd McCarter & the H***y Tonk Revival – Nebraska favorites bringing grit, old country, and that unmistakable honky-tonk spark
• The Salt Creek Ramblers – tight picking and timeless tunes
• Blue Raven Bluegrass Review – the young energy and passion grows before our eyes!

Come hungry because Cornhusker Beef BBQ will be serving up the good stuff, and the bar by Dinty Moores will keep the cups full and the stories flowing. Bring your own lawn chairs, please!

🎟 Tickets are $17 in advance | $20 at the door

This festival has quickly become one of Southeast Nebraska’s favorite early-summer traditions. Bring your lawn chairs, bring your friends, and settle in for an evening where the strings fly fast, the harmonies rise high, and the Nebraska sky does the rest. Let the magic begin! Year Three starts here. 🌾🎶

Today, on June 6, we remember the D-Day landings of 1944, when Allied forces launched the largest amphibious invasion in history along the beaches of Normandy, France.

Nearly 160,000 American, British, and Canadian troops landed across five beaches codenamed Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword, stretching across about 50 miles of heavily fortified coastline. In the early hours, the U.S. 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions dropped behind Utah, while the British 6th Airborne Division secured the eastern flank behind Sword.

Omaha became the bloodiest beach of the day, with roughly 2,400 American casualties in just a few hours. But by nightfall, the Allies had secured a foothold in Nazi-occupied France.

That foothold became the beginning of the liberation of Western Europe.
