Nearly every day I work with prospective clients on quotes and proposals for the tableware essentials to support their planned event. But we rarely focus on the finer details that transform a table set with vintage dishes into something purely magical.
Whether that be examining possible napkin folds, adding accessories, thinking through the dining experience (menu courses), selecting the right serving items, or coordinating with their florist for a few vintage floral containers.
It’s one of the joyful parts of my job to help identify novel ways to achieve the vision. Remember, when working with vintage pieces, you don’t have to use them as originally intended. That caviar dome? Exquisite! But it could also be used for nuts or flowers or butter…
The point is, if you’re a hostess working with a vintage tableware provider, take a pause and have the discussion about your broader vision to uncover a unique detail or two you’d never know about.
