Hello Nashville and fans of MCIK,
Almost 9 years ago, I walked through the front doors of Music City Indoor Karting on the grand opening night and participated in their first official race (they had a soft opening sometime before, but we’ll pretend that never happened). As a fan of racing, I didn’t even have to get out on track to know that this place would be somewhere I would eventually call my second home. Three months and SEVERAL races later, I was excited to join the crew here and begin my dream job; I got to work with/for/around people who enjoyed racing, saw my fair share of professional and aspiring drivers come in, and I would meet lots of folks that have become close friends over the years, but the most satisfying part of coming in everyday was seeing people drive around our track with smiles on their faces, telling us afterward that they couldn’t wait to come back. With any number of things that might make for a bad day for someone, to be able to provide that kind of an experience – if only for a short while – was a point of pride for me, and I know all of the employees feel the same way. I’m incredibly grateful for all the company has given to me and hopefully for everyone that has come through our doors.
Now although this might sound like “goodbye,” we *will be continuing on* as K1 Speed at our same location! For those unfamiliar with the K1 name, they have been around for almost 20 years with locations all over the world - 35+ of those in the United States alone. So we will be taking time this month for massive renovations and the installation of a brand new track with new state-of-the-art karts, and we will keep everyone updated on when we will be re-opening our doors to the public.
In closing, thank you so much to everyone who came out and supported us throughout the years. I can’t put into words how amazing of a journey it’s been and how happy I am to have been a part of it all. Cheers and see you soon!
