❶ At your first appointment, you'll work with your expert stylist to pick and choose parts of various gowns that you love. Your stylist will help you see how each part will work together to become your dream dress! It's all about design, not decision.

❷ Next is your muslin fitting! This is where Modern Trousseau is truly set apart from other brands that offer customizations. Muslin is a plain cotton fabric that serves as a prototype of the dress. Here we will discuss customizations and get the perfect fit before cutting into the fabric for your gown!

❸ At your third and typically final fitting, we will make some minor adjustments as needed to make it more comfortable or to make sure it fits like a glove!

"I've heard of a sample sale, but what does that really mean?"

This is a great question we received this week! If you've been shopping for your wedding dress, you've probably heard about sample sales, but may not know what that really means. Let us help!

A sample gown is the wedding dress equivalent to a floor model. The sample is the gown kept in the store for brides to try on, then create or order their gown. These are usually the gowns you see on mannequins or hanging on our racks. Sample gowns are typically sold in sizes 8-10.

A sample sale is when these gowns are sold right off the floor, at a significantly reduced price.

So, what's the benefit to purchasing a sample gown?

🤍 You need a dress sooner than it would take to order or custom design one. When you order your gown, it can take several months to be done, whereas when you purchase a sample gown, you take it home with you that day!
