After five years of work, prayer, and passion, I’m so excited to finally share that this book will officially be released this Friday. From the very beginning, my hope was to create something that brings encouragement, understanding, and hope to people living with tic disorders and the people who love and support them.

This book is also a meaningful resource for teachers, therapists, law enforcement officers, mentors, parents, and anyone who works closely with young people navigating challenges like Tourette’s. As launch day gets closer, I’d truly love your help spreading the word by liking, sharing, reposting, or telling someone about the book. Every share helps this message reach someone who may really need it. 🤍

4 days until launch.

And today I am introducing David Shenton.

From Carnegie Hall to Lincoln Center, from Broadway to film scores, David’s music has quite literally been on some of the biggest stages in the world.

Pianist. Violinist. Composer. Arranger. Conductor. Educator. His career spans genres, generations, and continents, collaborating with artists like Tony Bennett, Vanessa Williams, and Alan Menken along the way.

But beyond the titles and the performances, David’s story is really about a lifetime of choosing excellence, again and again. Long after the spotlight moment, long after the applause.

The kind of steady, faithful work most people never see, but always feel when the music plays.

Today we’re introducing Dave Pittman, and his story is one you won’t forget.

Most people know Dave for his incredible voice. Some know him from American Idol. But what makes his story so powerful has nothing to do with fame.

Diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome at a young age, Dave endured years of bullying that pushed him into some incredibly dark moments as a kid. But instead of letting those experiences define him, he turned pain into purpose.

Now, he uses his music and his story to encourage people who feel overlooked, misunderstood, or stuck in the middle of their own battle.

His chapter is honest, powerful, and full of hope, the kind that stays with you.

10 days until launch.

And today we get to introduce someone whose story in this book really sticks with you, Nikki Burdine.

If you’re in Nashville, you probably recognize her from Good Morning Nashville. If you’re not, she’s the kind of storyteller who’s spent her career telling other people’s stories with so much heart, and now she’s sharing her own.

Two-time podcast host. Former co-anchor. Emmy winner. AP honoree. She’s worked in Nashville, D.C., and beyond.

But long before the titles and the TV screens, Nikki was figuring out how to navigate life after being diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome, learning how to show up in a career built on being polished, poised, and “in control” when her reality wasn’t always that simple.

And instead of stepping back, she stepped forward.

Her story in this book is honest, human, and a reminder that strength doesn’t always look like what we expect it to.

10 days until you can read it for yourself in my new book.

This one hits different.

Tourette Warriors isn’t about limitations, it’s about what’s built in the fire.
Real stories. Real resilience. Real people who refused to be defined by a diagnosis.

If you’ve ever questioned what’s possible… this is your reminder.

This version of me had no idea what was coming.
No idea how much it would stretch me.
No idea how public some of it would become.
No idea how much it would shape my future.

At the time, I would’ve chosen easier.
Now?
I wouldn’t trade the growth.
Some challenges don’t shrink you.
They refine you.

Perspective changes everything.

I’ve been revisiting parts of my story I don’t usually talk about.

Not the stage stories.
Not the polished ones.
The uncomfortable ones.
The ones that didn’t feel inspiring at the time.

It’s strange how distance changes things.
What once felt limiting… now looks formative.

What once felt frustrating…now looks necessary.

Growth doesn’t just happen forward.
Sometimes it happens when you look back.

More on that soon.

I didn’t start practicing magic because I wanted to be a magician.

I started because I needed something I could control.

When your body feels unpredictable, you look for something steady. Repeatable. Trainable.

A deck of cards gave me that.

What started as coping turned into mastery. What started as therapy turned into a career.

What’s something you do that brings you calm when life feels chaotic?

The calm before the storm. (No winter weather pun intended.)
