Who’s Black?
Commenter:
“As I see it. We don't trust eachother. I am a Black woman of South-America and have been told in person and via internet that we Arent Black. My point of view is that everything that divides us will be used against us.
to us all.”
My Response:
You’re an African Descendant born in South America.
Black is a term white people created to shield themselves from their own gene recessive inadequacies (Albinism).
Most of the time Black people mean “Black with Southern roots” (been through the American Chattel Slavery struggle).
The trust part comes in because the Reparations movement and any benefits of the Civil Rights Movement were claimed by non-Descendants of American Chattel Slavery (white women, gay rights, Latinos, etc).
white people historically have given preference to non-Descendants because of our inherent global influence, our story, and the claim.
America’s historical educational repression of the Descendants leaves us a little behind the curve on literacy.
After almost 500 years of oppressive labor we’re a little tired of working.
Most non-Descendant immigrants are unaware of that legacy, so there’s a little aloofness.
So, you’re not “Black”, neither is Barack Obama or Kamala Harris, but if you’re an ally advocate, you’re good people to me. 👍🏾
