DMX reportedly turned a response to Kurupt into one of the biggest records of his entire career.

Xzibit revealed that DMX’s “Party Up (Up In Here)” came out of the tension surrounding Kurupt’s “Callin’ Out Names”, where Kurupt went after several rappers during the fallout involving Foxy Brown.

According to Xzibit, DMX heard the record and decided to answer back through “Party Up”.

That means a song that became one of X’s biggest mainstream anthems was originally fueled by real rap beef.

Instead of making a traditional diss record, DMX took that energy and turned it into a hit that crossed far beyond the battle itself.

Ice-T says Hip-Hop changed so much that he reached a point where he genuinely considered never making another rap album.

When ringtone rap and Auto-Tune took over, Ice said the music went completely outside his zone. Rather than chase a sound that wasn’t natural to him, he stepped away, saying some of it “sounded goofy.”

But Ice-T says a recent Hip-Hop renaissance changed everything, seeing respected veterans return with strong projects made him want to rap again:

“Nas opened a lot of people up over on his label with the Slick Rick, Raekwon, and Ghostface projects”.

Ice said rap then started shifting back toward the kind of lyricism he connected with, and hearing those artists again gave him the bug to return with his first major solo album in roughly 20 years.

Health is wealth—and 8Ball’s transformation is living proof. 🙏🏾🎱

The Memphis legend says his weight reached 458 pounds after years of struggling to find something that worked. Things became even more serious during the pandemic when he was stuck inside, barely moving and dealing with several health problems.

That’s when 8Ball stopped trying to handle everything alone.

He began working with his doctor, a cardiologist and a nutritionist. With professional guidance, better eating habits and exercise, he has dropped more than 150 pounds and now weighs under 300—all without weight-loss surgery.

But his greatest motivation wasn’t appearance. It was life.

8Ball said he realized too many people depend on him—not only financially, but simply to be here. His children also keep him active, including his son, who runs marathons.

This wasn’t an overnight transformation. It took years of consistency, medical guidance and a decision to keep showing up—even after spending most of his life battling his weight.

At 53 years old, 8Ball’s journey is a powerful reminder that you’re never too old, too far gone or too late to choose yourself.

The goal isn’t perfection. The goal is to still be here. 💯
