I was so uncertain that I wanted to be a mother. And yet it found me. To this day, in a million ways, it proves over and over to be the biggest love I’ve ever known.

But mothering isn’t relegated to only women who have given birth. It’s a universal language of care and love and concern and action.

The real exchange is in the seeing and knowing and showing up and being vulnerable and failing and trying again and succeeding and stumbling and regrouping and cooking something delicious and going on a walk and taking a trip and looking for every conceivable way to be your best self and in turn to try to bring out the best in the ones your heart is made specifically for.
