18 weeks of lectures and homework completed! ✅
Two-and-a-half-hour final exam completed! ✅
Now comes the hard part… waiting at least six days for my final exam results! I'm feeling pretty confident about my chances of passing the Husbandry and Captive Management of Reptiles and Amphibians course!
I have to say, I'm pretty proud of myself for seeing this one through! It took a lot of time, studying, and dedication, and there were definitely some challenging moments along the way. But that's also what made it so rewarding!
Even after nearly 30 years of working with and caring for reptiles, I still find it amazing just how much more there is to learn. This course pushed me to expand my knowledge, introduced me to species and aspects of animal management I wasn't as familiar with, and gave me an even deeper appreciation for the science, husbandry, and conservation efforts involved in caring for and protecting these incredible animals.
I've always believed that hands-on experience is invaluable, but there's something equally rewarding about continuing to challenge yourself, broaden your understanding, and realize that no matter how much you know, there's always more to discover.
I'm definitely glad to have this one behind me, and hopefully, I'll have another certificate to add to the collection soon!
But the learning isn't over yet! This weekend, I'm jumping into my next educational adventure with a Foundations in Wildlife Rehabilitation course. I'm especially excited about this one as I continue exploring opportunities to become more involved in helping and rehabilitating our native New Hampshire wildlife.
And after that? A much-deserved break from classes, lectures, homework, and exams!
For me, continuing my education has never been about simply collecting certificates. It's about growing, becoming better at what I do, and doing right by the animals I've spent so much of my life caring about.
Always learning, always growing, and always looking for ways to better understand, care for, and advocate for these amazing animals!
