I couldn't end September without bringing awareness to childhood cancer. It's a cause that's very important to me, one that I wish would get more attention and more funding. I've had the honor of photographing many little fighters throughout their journeys. They are the most important shoots I've ever done. I've gotten to watch some of the kids grow while others forever have a special place in my heart.
Now to this beautiful girl, McKynsie Faith. I have known her for over 10 years now. My family and hers are extremely close. She is truly one of my favorite people. She is someone that brings so much love and light to this world. She's my daughter's close friend and role model, which I'm very grateful for. This past summer we got to take a trip together and celebrate her 15th birthday. She let me grab some pictures, and I couldn't help but have flashbacks to ones taken years before, during a much different time. McKynsie is now in high school, a talented dancer, smart, artistic, kind, and such a joy to be around.
I thank God for connecting me with the Jones family, for letting me watch McKynsie grow, and for blessing me with a job where I'm able to freeze these special moments in time.
