Happy City Box Happy Event Co. is Birmingham, Alabama's premier event design, planning and production company.

Barbara Gaines Kenyon is the owner of Happy Event Company and Happy City Box. She has a Master’s degree from Auburn University in event management as well as two decades of envisioning, designing, creating, and executing events. By tapping into the body’s four key happiness drivers—dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphins—she has crafted joy-inducing events from Birmingham to London. When the event industry ground to a halt due to the pandemic, Barbara quickly pivoted and developed a new happiness delivery system—the Happy City Box. Each box is filled with items from local retailers and makers; these items specifically connect with those four emotional drivers, allowing Barbara to deliver happiness to a whole new crowd. Whether customizing boxes or designing events, Barbara’s mission and business goals are simple: She believes in excellent standards of service and strives to exceed her clients’ expectations by creating moments that bring people happiness.

💛I was grateful to see this Crisis Call Box on the Golden Gate Bridge. This is a reminder that even when life APPEARS to be beautiful & perfect all around; whether it’s a person and their smile or our surroundings…everyone is experiencing some sort of pain.
Two calls to action:
1. If you are hurting & feeling isolated, remember that the world loves you and needs you. You are unique & special & loved! Give yourself grace! If you reach out - you will see there IS HELP. THERE IS HOPE!
2. Please keep this yellow call box in mind: Be available, make yourself aware & sensitive to the pain others may be experiencing around you. Smile at strangers & actively love your friends & family. Let other humans know how valuable they are. You CAN make a difference for the better in the world. BE THE CALL BOX!
