The Actors Studio 2013

A theater experience where the spotlight shines not just on the stage, but on the creative journey itself. The Studio Players reimagine traditional performance by turning every show into an evolving workshop—a space where stories are sculpted through collaboration, experimentation, and the collective voice of the actors. Here, the process is as vital as the product. At the

heart of our ethos is the belief that actors are not just interpreters, but co-creators. We actively seek and celebrate their insights, ideas, and instincts, weaving their perspectives into the fabric of each production. Rehearsals buzz with open dialogue, improvisation, and bold choices, fostering an environment where risks are rewarded and artistry thrives. But the magic doesn’t stop with the cast. Audiences are invited into this dynamic exchange, witnessing raw, unfiltered performances that blur the line between rehearsal and revelation. Every laugh, gasp, or silence from the crowd fuels the energy onstage, creating a symbiotic relationship where viewer and performer inspire one another. The Studio Players are more than a theater group—we’re a living laboratory for storytelling. Here, the actors’ vision drives the narrative, the audience becomes a vital collaborator, and every curtain call is a celebration of shared creativity. Come experience theater that’s alive, unpolished, and unafraid to let the process take center stage. At The Studio Players, we’re proof that passion outshines budget. Born from the heart of our community, this grassroots theatre thrives on raw talent, relentless creativity, and the kind of ingenuity that turns shoestring resources into spellbinding productions. Every actor, every set piece, every story is a testament to what happens when artistry meets determination. This isn’t just theatre—it’s the real deal. No frills, no pretense—just pure, unfiltered storytelling that captivates, challenges, and transforms. Here, imagination has no limits, and every curtain rise celebrates the collaborative spirit of artists who dare to dream big. Come immerse yourself in our culture—where grit meets grace, and every performance is a labor of love. Be part of the legacy. Scott Lilly - Co-founder | CEO | Producing Artistic Director
Kevin Hendricks - Vice President | Executive Director
Paula Keenan - Co-Executive Director

Mission Statement

The Studio Players cultivates a highly creative, inclusive, and collaborative environment in which professional artists and artists in training are encouraged to broaden their craft while engaging, entertaining, and challenging our diverse community with theatrical productions that range from alternative and contemporary to more established works. The Studio Players, Inc. is a 501 ( c ) (3) non-profit organization. TSP operates on an extremely tight budget with a very small group of volunteers that has hosted over 29 full-length shows with over 300 productions in the past 7 years. These productions have brought in approximately 20,000 people into downtown Golden Gate area, that normally would not have been there, and our presence has generated financial growth for many other businesses in the area as well. But we can’t continue to do this without your support. Box office revenues cover only a portion of our operating budget. Donations and Sponsors will allow us to bridge the gap between ticket sales and operating expenses. Without individual donor support, we could not keep the curtain up! Become a friend of the theater today and help keep our little theatre group alive in downtown Golden Gate.
