Love has a beautiful way of bringing people together. 🤍

For Katie & Drew’s intimate beach wedding in Naples, family and friends traveled from Ireland, France and across the U.S. to be there as they said “I do.”

Different places. Many miles. One beautiful reason to come together.

As their officiant, I had the privilege of standing beside them and seeing just how much love surrounded them. Sometimes, the distance people travel simply says it all.

The Art of Marriage by Wilferd Arlan Peterson is still one of my favorite readings about marriage. 🤍

Its words are timeless, meaningful, and a beautiful reminder that a strong marriage is created in the little things we choose to do for one another every day. It can be such a lovely addition to a wedding ceremony, whether read by the officiant or someone special to the couple.

Three books. One purpose. ❤️

I never set out simply to write books. I wanted to take what I’ve learned through more than 25 years and 5,000 wedding ceremonies and put it somewhere it could continue helping people long after the ceremony ends.

One book helps couples prepare for the ceremony and the marriage ahead. One offers biblical wisdom and reflection for the many seasons relationships go through. And one passes along what I’ve learned to the friends, family members, and officiants who have been given the incredible honor of standing beside a couple and saying, “You may kiss.”

Seeing all three of them sitting in front of me is a little surreal.

They represent thousands of couples, thousands of stories, a whole lot of life experience—and a piece of my heart on every page.
