Every time I see photos from this wedding, it makes me think of Spring and how it’s right around the corner.

Especially this bouquet. With it’s colorful ribbons streaming. Some have a hint of sparkle.

I am just so happy.

That's what color does for you. It can bring joy, happiness, excitement. I've never been a blush and bashful designer - because I believe that color is deeply rooted in who we are.

What flower makes you think of Spring?

We love working with couples that allow us to show their bold, exuberant, personalities through their event.

This attendant’s bouquet is the perfect example. Her beautiful blue gown is the perfect backdrop for this bright, happy, combination of colors.

She couldn’t help but smile as she walked down the aisle.

What colors come to mind for you when you hear the word happy?

The design questions that came back from Stephanie and Trevor mandated more than a "pop" of color. I love this peony more than I love cookie dough and that's a lot. 😍

Our bouquets are always incorporating something unexpected. This one had sprigs of mint and felt so fresh and bright.

What's your favorite color combination for a bridal bouquet?

“We are all apprentices in a craft in which no one becomes a master.”

I saw this quote from Ernest Hemingway in a post recently, but with the addition of the following words:

“The best keep learning”.

I have to admit, the post was related to coaching baseball - but I really think it’s true for the creative event industry too.

I know that when I started in this business all those years ago, I felt like I had a lot to learn.

It wasn’t until someone asked me to mentor them that my mindset changed to education. From that I found a passion for sharing with others.

I mean, what good is knowledge if you are hoarding it for yourself?

Now, I am teaching others what was taught to me, what I taught myself, and even what I stumbled on by accident.

But, what has become very clear over the last year, especially with my membership, The Creative Collective, is that I’m learning so much from them.

The Podcast for Creatives has passed 3500 downloads, Y’all!

I’m so excited and grateful that my stories have been helpful to other creative event professionals.

To receive reviews like this one from Jennifer E., give me the motivation to keep going:

“I love that Sasha has given all of us a look behind the curtain to shed light on the good and bad in the event industry.

Her honesty about past experiences and how she has overcome challenges will help all creatives who want to elevate their game.

Thankful for her transparency that helps me learn lessons that move me from where I’m at to where I want to be faster!”

Thanks to everyone for listening and helping this project to keep growing.

Who else needed to hear this today?! 👏

A huge reason we don’t start pursuing our goals and dreams is simply because we tell ourselves we can never actually reach them.

Then after putting those things aside, we decide that we are too far behind to even start.

I often hear this excuse from other creative event professionals. I’ve even done it myself.

Well, I’m here to remind you that you are NOT behind. You are never behind as long as you are making progress that’s right for you.👊

In The Creative Collective, my membership for creative event professionals, we help each other remember with constant support from an amazing community where everyone can shine.

So, if you decided to click “Got it!”, tell me in the comments and be sure to grab the link 🔗 below to get more info about the program, so you can learn more about how to start making progress now!

From an all white ceremony, we transitioned into dinner with bold teals and purples, with dark wood accents for Molly & James.

Each 32’ long table was lined with a mix of arrangements of brightly colored florals in glass, accented with crystals and candles in colors to compliment interspersed throughout.

What kind of seating do you like for dinner service? Tell us in the comments.

We love when our couples come to us with an openness to color. It’s definitely a place where we excel:)

The attendants wore rich aubergine flowing gowns, so we used florals in hues of pinks and purples that would pop against them.

A blend of orchids, peonies, and hydrangea gave a fullness, with some fun texture.

What color will your attendants wear? Tell us in the comments.

Our bride Molly wanted her wedding ceremony to feel etherial - and all in white against the background of the giant oak tree on Family Winery’s Boot Hill.

Instead of building an altar with posts that would compete with the surroundings, we suspended it from that tree.

With white orchids growing out of the top and sparkling crystals dripping down, we added in some fabric “legs” to frame out the piece and bring the focus on the couple.

White rose petals are sprinkled at the ground beneath them to soften the gravel there.

It’s so fun for us to collaborate with our couples and bring their visions to life. When those ideas come together they make a memorable image like this.

What colors do you envision for your wedding ceremony? Tell us in the comments.

Ultimately, I want to let you know that if I can do something like this - YOU can do it too.
