🍇 WINTER VINEYARD SECRETS 🍇

Ever wonder what happens in those seemingly dormant vineyard rows? Just like bears preparing for hibernation, vines go into power-saving mode! The sap, water, and nutrients retreat deep into the roots, building reserves for the spectacular show they'll put on come spring.

It starts off as a tangle of woody chaos but the skilled vineyard crew meticulously selects which vines stay to create next season's grapes.

And those adorable sheep? They're not just here for the Instagram likes (though they definitely deserve them)! These woolly vineyard assistants are our sustainable superheroes - munching cover crops, aerating soil, and leaving behind natural fertilizer. Talk about the perfect eco-friendly workforce!

By late March, those first tiny buds signal nature's alarm clock - the vineyard is waking up, and so begins another incredible journey from vine to wine.

I LOVE our neighborhood Wine Dogs and Mella (the new puppy at Flambeaux Wine) is a clone of Stella - literally. Aside from my pups, Stella and Mella are my faves.

I can't wait to go up and meet her soon!

A friend once joked to Flambeaux Wine owner Art Murray that he should think about cloning his winery dog Stella, a rare Italian breed. "It didn't seem that strange to me,” Murray said.

COME OVER OCTOBER!
I don't know about you, but it seems harder and harder to slow down, clear time in my calendar and get together with friends and loved ones to just be together (without the obligation and expectations that the upcoming holidays bring).

Come Over October is a movement that started this year in recognition of the fact that we all need to slow down and reconnect with one another. And there is nothing like beautiful glass of wine with a little nibble and the best of friends to remind us of what's really important in life ... the ones we are privileged to share it with.
