The beginning of October was full of harvesting like crazy for my last few times of the flower stand. The dahlias, zinnias, and marigolds were in their prime.
Then for my last two days of flower stand for 2025, October 11 and 15th, I created Petals with Purpose. It was a fundraiser that donated half of all sales from the flower stand to CASA of Southwest Idaho. They are a nonprofit that helps advocate for children in foster care. Together we were able to donate $580 to CASA and help children right here in our own community! I am so grateful for everyone who came out to the flower stand, and those that sent monetary donations for the cause. This made for a real memorable October for me and I canāt wait to do it again next year!
My shipment of peonies came, so Addy and I got those 100 peony roots planted (wahoo!). Thatās whatās so great about nature, as one thing dies, it then becomes time to plant something else, thus making you excited for the future. I canāt wait for these beauties to start blooming in the spring!
Addy and I started the great dahlia dig of 2025 yesterday. All of the dahlia tuber clumps will be dug up, washed off, divided, and stored safely for winter. Iāve got just under 400 dahlia clumps to dig up. Send Aleve and Mtn Dew.
