We were so excited when event planner Jen Strunk reached out about an upcoming stylized photoshoot at a new property for rent in downtown Mystic.

Not only was the venue, the Charles Mallory House, immediately in downtown (you can literally see the river from the front porch), several of our My Mystic Wedding preferred vendors were onboard as well.

The historic home, which boosts 7 bedrooms, 5 baths, and ample space to enjoy time with friends and family indoors as well as out, has been newly renovated, while maintaining some original charm.

The perfect launching pad for your wedding celebration, the Charles Mallory House is currently listed on VRBO.

We took the lead from our friends at Saltwater Farm and revisited a favorite wedding hosted at their venue in May of 2016.

A note from their planner at Jubilee Events, “Taylor and Mike… the type of people you want to just hug and squeeze because they make you laugh and smile so hard your cheeks hurt. This couple’s infectious grins and sweet personalities, so eminent in their love for one another. Their perfect laughs that warmed your heart, even if you didn’t know why you were laughing yet you couldn’t help but join in. The undying support and compassion for one another – always a gleam in their eye as they reached a milestone of planning. Their family and friends were just the same! I swear, we all left this wedding feeling like we gained about 150 new friends. We were surrounded by immeasurable love and celebration, the kind that makes you walk away saying, “Now that was a helluva day!”

What is more iconic Mystic than the Drawbridge and a sunset sail on the River?

After their first look at the beach in Enders Island, M & T stopped for some shots in front of the historic Mystic Drawbridge before setting sail on the Schooner Argia for their ceremony and celebration.

It was their photograph Garret Ward’s first time shooting on a sailboat, and boy did he deliver. The changing light over the water was captured perfectly and added to the magic of their Big Day.

Want to incorporate a Drawbridge pic into your wedding photos? According to This Is Mystic, “[the bridge] is raised to allow boat traffic on a regular schedule from May 1st – October 31st at 40 min. past the hour from 7:40am – 6:40pm.”

First Look Feels this Monday from Meghan & Tyler’s August 2020 wedding.

While their plans to be wed at Saltwater Farm Vineyard were put on hold until August 2021, Meghan & Tyler didn’t want to wait to tie the knot, and said their ‘I do’s’ in front of an intimate gathering of family and friends on their original wedding date.

Before the ceremony, the two did a First Look on Enders Island, located in the Fisher's Island Sound at the base of the Mystic River.

Right down to the sail boats in the background, their photos are just oh-so Mystic. More to come from their Mystic celebration later this week!

Loving this palette of pale pink, greens and ivory from Olivia & Sean’s 2019 wedding at Saltwater Farm.

Saltwater’s revived circa 1940s airplane hangar boosts floor to ceiling original wood interior, polished concrete floors, and stone and metal work inside and out, giving an overall feel that is warm and neutral, welcoming a variety of styles and color schemes.

These subtly pinks and greens gave O & S celebration a touch of Lilly Pulitzer prep while accents of gold, ivory and twinkle lights added an air of romance and sophistication.

A beautiful day for a lovely couple, and a Dream Team of Vendors to pull it all together 💫

From event planner Jennifer of Blue Lane Events: “Britt and Tre’s wedding weekend was a true Mystic experience for them and all their guests. There was no detail that wasn't thought of. They started the weekend with a clambake at the Boat Shed at Mystic Seaport which included a boat ride on the historic Sabino. The wedding day was so amazing at the beautiful Harborview Landing with views of the Mystic River for miles. The couple and their immediate family stayed onsite at Harborview Landing’s beautiful cottages. They wrapped up their celebration with a farewell brunch at Red 36 and it did not disappoint.”
