ALL THE DETAILS for officiating a wedding



How do we get started?

You email/text me and set an appointment to meet. I am available to officiate in the Myrtle Beach area and surrounding towns outside of Horry County, just ask. I plan most consultations in the Myrtle BeachSC area or places out of town up to 20 minutes of travel time. If you are out of town, we can meet by in person, by a phone conversation or by FaceTime. We design the perfect ceremony for you. We agree on a date and time. You give me a deposit to reserve the date on my calendar. It’s pretty easy.

What information do you need?

I need to know the specific DATE, TIME and LOCATION of your wedding in order to see if I’m available. Please leave that on the message when you email me at [email protected] or by calling with your info.

How much do you charge?

My fee for a local wedding is $ 150 total, with a $50 non-refundable deposit due upon booking. It will be more if it is farther away and may be less for last minute or midweek weddings.

What does the fee for ceremony include?

*At the beginning there will be a consultation either in person at a chosen location made prior in agreement by both Officiant and couple or you may choose to do this meeting by phone. During this time we will discuss all questions and details that you may have. I will work with you by giving you ideas to make your wedding day complete. (Unity candles, sand ceremony, wine ceremonies-wine blending...one of my new favorites)

*During the time before your wedding I will send you a copy of the ceremony by email for your approval or to make any changes. I will be available by email, phone, and text to address any changes or to add to your ceremony; whatever is needed to make your wedding day special.

*There will be one final consultation after we finalize the ceremony. This meeting can be done in person as we did during our initial consultation or by phone. During this time you will receive a final copy of your ceremony.

*Rehearsal Time day before the wedding can be added for an additional fee. If you need me to be at rehearsal, this can be arranged for an extra fee of $50 If you have chosen this option I will arrive 30 minutes prior to rehearsal.

*On the wedding day I will arrive 45 minutes prior to the start time of your ceremony.

*Please advise in our first consultations what you would like me (the officiant) to wear. (Robe and stole, Suit, or Casual wear to fit your surroundings of your wedding ceremony)

*One of the most important things of the day will be to sign your marriage license. Your license can be given to me the night of rehearsal if you have chosen for me to be there or should be given to me upon arrival on the wedding day. Two witnesses names should be given to me as well so that the signing can take place.

*I am available for photos before the wedding as well as immediately following the ceremony.

Do you offer discounts?

I offer discounts for midweek weddings and last minute bookings if I don’t have anything else going on. Email me to check for details.

Do you come to rehearsal?

Typically I don’t need to come to rehearsal. Wedding coordinators run the show. We will have met by this time and you will have an outline of my part. The rehearsal is mainly for the people walking in to know where to stand. If you need me to be at rehearsal, this can be arranged for an extra fee of $50.

How long is the average wedding?

15-20 minutes is the basic time once it gets started. If we add extra things like readings, songs, unity candles or sand, wine blending, etc. it takes a little longer, but never over 30 minutes.

Do you do weddings outside the Myrtle Beach, SC /Horry County areas?

Yes, as long as they are within a 30 minute drive.
It is an additional fee for travel time and expense after 30 miles. Usually that is $25 if is in an adjacent county. It doesn’t hurt to ask.

Are you an ordained minister?

Yes. I have been in ministry for over 20 years.

Do you know a good venue, florist, someone for music (my wife is a wonderful pianist and we have a friend who is a harpist), photographer, cake place, etc?

Yes. I work with many great professionals.

As a funeral Minister/Officiant, I am honored to offer my services to you and your family.

It is my true belief that every one that lives on the earth, for a short while or a life time, leaves something to be celebrated. Honoring the life lived with a Minister/Officiant gives an opportunity to personalize the service in a way that you can’t find anywhere else. Each one of my services is custom fit for the person that has died. I feel so pleased and honored to do this work because I have lived through the experience of loss with family and close friends. I found having a celebration of life brought the comfort and closure I needed.

Having experienced the loss of family and friends in the recent past, I understand the need to eulogize, honor, and pay tribute to a loved one that has passed on. A celebration of a loved one’s life can be very healing. A gathering of family and friends provides comfort and support for one another. A service does not have to be a formal event. I have provided services in churches, funeral homes, family homes, in the back yard of friends, on a golf course and in beautiful parks. I believe this service should be a personal reflection of the life lived. Every one deserves to have a service that honors their life when they die. Together we will create and present a special moment that will honor your loved one's life in a special way and bring peace and comfort for family and friends.

WHY USE A MINISTER/OFFICIANT? Ordained Minister/Officiant is a person who works to meet a family's needs during the most difficult time of their lives. A Minister/Officiant is trained to help individuals create and present a funeral, memorial, or celebration of life that is personalized for the person that has died.

WHY INVOLVE A MINISTER/OFFICIANT? Many families today do not belong to a church. They have no family minister. Many families are choosing to have a celebration of the life lived rather than a sermon. I have worked along side families in their loss to give a family both. A Minister /Officiant will honor the wishes of the family and is able to do either a religious or non religious service. The family can have a service just the way they would like and be involved as much or as little as they like. This is truly their service.

CITIES SERVED: I am available to help families in practically any location throughout the Myrtle Beach, SC area and within a 30 minutes drive of MB locations. After 30 miles up to an hours drive is additional fee. I am also willing to go beyond the areas listed above as well. Let me know what you need and we will work together to try and make it happen.

INFORMATION ABOUT MY FEE: My fee generally runs $250 up to a 30 minutes drive from the Myrtle Beach, SC area and a $100 deposit nonrefundable fee. An additional $25 fee is applied up to an hours drive from above areas mentioned. I am willing to go to other areas as well, just ask and we can work something out to make it happen. I have always done weddings for friends and people from church, but I started my Wedding Officiant services when a friend mentioned that a lot of people would like an ordained pastor to marry them, but they don’t have a church or they would prefer a destination wedding. Also I wanted to offer a place where couples could find a person who would create a beautiful ceremony to match their love story.

Since 1996 , I have performed hundreds of weddings for happy couples. Now, I have a deep passion to be able to offer weddings for ALL couples by helping each of them in making their love story come true.
