Happy Frostmas! The first hard frost marks the official end to the flower season.

The final weeks of clean up are here. It's "work in sweatshirts and overalls" season. There is still preparations to do for the spring before the ground is too hard.

Thankfully I remembered to collect some seed heads from the dahlias yesterday! I am starting to feel ready to tackle the dahlia patch now. The leaves are beginning to fall so we will soon have plenty of leaf litter to mulch our tubers and put them to bed.

When all the flowers are dead, you can still make a beautiful fall arrangement. It may just take a little foraging around the yard.

I found all of this good material on a short walk around our farm. Keep an eye out for interesting weeds, branches, and dried flowers. You might just be able to make some new decor with them.

With a slower rhythm, I've enjoyed playing with the flowers and making some fall arrangements this week.

I've been seeing this flower filled pumpkin trend around lately and while I still have some beautiful dahlias to show off, I figured I would try it.
