Thank you to everyone in the community and participants who took the time to bring perishable food items, canned goods, and other items that help in the future.

We greatly appreciate and enjoy the continued partnership with Mission for Area People. As this being our 12th Annual Muskegon St. Patrick's Day Parade this is also another wonderful year working alongside MAPs and helping make an impact in the community.

Please enjoy the shared video from MAPs, as this speaks to their Mission, Goal, and Values as a whole.

MAP has served Muskegon County residents for 57 years! Our goal is to provide Muskegon County residents with resources to meet basic needs, promote dignity and respect, and improve quality of life. We believe in offering a “hand up” and not just a “hand out” to our neighbors in need. We prioritize the principle of empowerment and self-sufficiency.

Our Story

The Annual Muskegon St. Patrick’s Day Parade, stepping off at 11:00 a.m. from 4th Street and Clay Avenue and marching east along Clay to Jefferson Street. Families, organizations, fraternal groups, businesses, marching bands, churches and schools are invited to join in the fun and march in this exciting event! Sponsor your “clan” and walk the parade route or design a float and ride through downtown Muskegon along “O’Clay Street”! The only cost to march in the parade or sponsor a float is a non-perishable food donation to benefit Catholic Charities of West Michigan. The Greater Muskegon Jaycees “Cart Corps” will perform along the parade route, accepting food donations from the parade crowd and entertaining the assembled masses with their synchronized grocery cart maneuvers! If your family, organization or group wants to march in the inaugural Muskegon St. Patrick’s Day Parade, please contact the Greater Muskegon Jaycees at [email protected] or visit www.jcimuskegon.org/theparade for registration and information. You can also pick up a packet in person at the Muskegon County Convention & Visitors Bureau, 610 W. Western Avenue in downtown Muskegon, 231-724-3100. Registration forms are due back to the Greater Muskegon Jaycees by March 10, 2018. Again, there is no cost to march or participate in the Muskegon St. Patrick’s Day Parade, just a donation of non-perishable food items. Spectators are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the parade for collection by the Greater Muskegon Jaycees “Cart Corps” along the parade route. For more information on the parade or any of the St. Patrick’s Day activities, contact the Greater Muskegon Jaycees at [email protected] or the Muskegon County Convention & Visitors Bureau at 231-724-3100 or [email protected]
