Ahhh, the loft…

It’s a hidden gem, people tell us.

You look at the Claymore building itself and most people don’t realize there’s an open concept, 2,800 sq ft apartment with a chef’s kitchen, 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms on the second floor above the event space!

We’ve had birthday dinner parties, showers, family reunions, wellness retreats, photo shoots,
bachelor/bachelorette weekends, friends weekends, you name it.

Getting married? The loft is included in a few of our wedding packages - whether you want the space for the day to get ready, or a weekend stay with friends and family that includes rehearsal and Sunday brunch!

As the air becomes crisper, and we’re looking at winter (we know it may be a state crime to say it, but bear with us) we’re immediately reminded of Drew and Lexi’s iconic winter wedding at the Clay in December 2024.

This amazing and kind couple made a statement of a winter wedding, and oh, how much we enjoyed seeing their ideas come alive at the Claymore!

This magical day started off with a ceremony in the snow - OUTSIDE in December - complete with Christmas trees and blue plaid blankets. For reception they took her vision of a sultry, wintery vibe and it showed through subtle but beautiful hints of Christmas, while still remaining very much a wedding. It was winter perfection.

They showed all of us how underrated a winter wedding can be. Who says weddings are only for Spring, Summer and Fall?

As you can see in the photos, Tori and Jared’s love for each other is contagious. You can tell they are truly best friends.

Their wedding was a collection of personal details that took a year to collect. Literally! Tori and Jared collected vintage dishes and mugs in the time leading up to their wedding, and guests got to choose a mug from their “mug tree” to take home in honor and remembrance of this day. How touching is that?

From vintage mugs to customized cocktails in honor of their two precious French bulldogs, Tori and Jared’s wedding was as thoughtful and personalized as it gets and we’re so honored they chose the Claymore.

We can only hope to cross paths with them again ❤️❤️

Today we’re reminiscing on a splendid 4 day conference/retreat the Claymore hosted for a 10 year, nonprofit project called Wellville.

It really was the most interesting group of people, from all walks of life and from all over the country!

They supported five US communities for 10 years, including Muskegon. This was their end-of-project celebration. How cool is that?!

We were so honored to host Wellville and certainly hope to cross paths with these wonderful individuals. Their giving and curious nature certainly does not end with Wellville.
