In light of the recent rabies exposure from baby goats at a petting zoo in North Carolina, I wanted to take a moment to talk about our donkey herd health and care!

💉 Our donkeys are vaccinated every year based on our veterinarians’ recommendation. I’m more than happy to provide proof of vaccinations and a negative Coggins test at any event we attend.

💅🏼 Our donkeys receive hoof trims every 4 weeks. Donkeys are very prone to hoof issues so this helps us catch anything before it becomes a problem.

🦷 Our donkeys receive yearly dental exams and floating as needed.

✋🏼 Our donkeys receive regular chiropractic and bodywork sessions as needed.

🌾 Our donkeys are on a strict forage based diet. Because of this, we do not allow guests to feed them any treats. We take pride in not having obese donkeys.

🫏 All of our donkeys are turned out together and live outside 24/7. This gives them the freedom to hang out under shelter, eat or play whenever they want.

We put a lot of effort into making sure our donkeys receive the best species appropriate care. It truly takes a team to make sure all of their needs are met but we’re blessed to have the best!
