I took a piece from every card we received from our wedding and my bridal showers and used them as the frame for our favorite wedding photo. I think this turned out so cute! I get to have a piece of each card forever, and I get to display this in my home for years to come. 🤍

Yesterday I was transporting special items from the ceremony to reception location, and noticed the bride’s bouquet held her something old & something borrowed — a KEY! ❤️💐🗝️

In case you didn’t know, Key is my maiden name, which led to my business name. 😉

Great tips here! Married friends, share your season, size, scope or engagement story! 😍

Getting engaged is soooo exciting!!! Based on the scores of weddings we’ve done here at Vida Buena Farm, there are three things we think help as you begin planning your big day.

SEASONS: Think in terms of seasons rather than specific dates. You might find the perfect venue, but it’s not available on the specific date. Or the photographer you really liked isn’t available. Give yourselves some wiggle room and see what happens.

SIZE:  Knowing how many people will be attending your wedding is a critical element of the rest of your plan. How big is your guest list? Will there be a bridal party? Are you including children? Who to invite can cause stress among family members…but it’s your wedding so you should surround yourself with your people.

SCOPE: Figure out what are the most important elements for each of you, and prioritize those things above everything else. When Rick and I got married (way back when) his thing was the cake, and mine was the music. We focused on that rather than the table decor which neither of us really cared that much about given we were married outside at a beautiful venue in the Santa Cruz mountains (that venue was the inspiration for Vida Buena Farm).

Focus your initial efforts on these three areas and you’ll set yourself up for a successful, and hopefully less stressful, wedding planning process.  After all, this is supposed to be fun!
