It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Lee Farris, one of our beloved Veteran Mentors with CERV.

Lee was more than a mentor—he was a friend, a brother, and a steady presence in our Veteran community. He had a way of making people feel welcome, supported, and understood. His willingness to show up for others and share his time, wisdom, and heart made an impact that will not be forgotten.

We are incredibly grateful for the time we were blessed to have with Lee and for the countless Veterans whose lives he touched. His legacy will continue through the community he helped build and the people he encouraged along the way.

I spent 9 years in the Navy and have recently graduated from MTSU with a BS in Horse Science. I am now pursuing my MS in Equine Education while conducting research on EAS for veterans. I currently assist MTSUs Center of Equine Recovery for Veterans program and am working towards opening my own EAS facility for veterans in Middle Tennessee upon graduation.

DATE CHANGE!! 🚨 VA Recreation Therapy & MTSU are teaming up with MOVE United for indoor climbing, kayaking, and (weather permitting) beepball. No experience needed—come and go, free lunch provided!

Here at Center of Equine Recovery for Veterans, we want to wish safe travels to the MTSU Stock Horse Team as they start their journey to Texas tomorrow to defend their National Championship 💪🏼

Fun fact - Many of our MTSU CERV students - past and present are a part of the Stock Horse or MTSU Equestrian Team!

It’s now the group’s turn to cheer on our own Andrea Rego and her team. The veterans could not be more proud 💙
