The preservation of historical places is so important. The demolition of the Old Jenkins Home is such a loss to the community.

Here is a picture of the old Jenkins House which was used during the Battle of Murfreesboro December 31st 1862 to January 1st 1863 as a hospital for both sides of the Battle during the Civil War. It sat where the present day Honda dealership is being built. I used to frequent it a lot during my college years of the 80’s and 90’s by going to parties at the home. It was beautiful and only if the walls could talk. It was torn down unfortunately in 2006. I loved this home.❤️🤓
