Hi I'm Sue, the artist behind The White Violet, a boutique floral business specializing in one of a kind, hand crafted, faux flower arrangements. Launched in 2018, The White Violet has given me the opportunity to turn my lifelong passion f

or flowers, nature, and whimsy into something real that others can enjoy. I design for both individual and corporate clients, from small desktop sized arrangements to large pieces for lobbies and storefronts. I also teach hands on floral workshops where participants can learn how to design their own floral arrangements that they can then take home. As an experienced floral artist, having both trained and worked in floral design, my goal is to create floral decor that is both beautiful and long lasting. By using high quality faux, preserved and sola wood materials, I am able to create floral decor pieces that meet these goals and more. Every floral stem utilized in my designs are hand selected for their quality, uniqueness and visual interest. When choosing materials to work with I not only consider quality and aesthetic appeal, but also whether or not the material is eco-friendly and sustainable. My goal is to incorporate sustainable, VOC and toxin free, vintage and/or recycled components, in some form, into each of my designs and/or packaging, as I believe it is important to create mindfully. Fresh flowers and beautiful faux botanicals don’t have to compete. There’s room for both - and beauty in both.

That’s my philosophy and simply how I see flowers.

Why I’m a fan of ETSY (and yes I’m a seller too)!

Sometimes finding just the right stems for a project isn’t easy. And preserved botanicals are quite tricky indeed!

Things like dried Lunaria (silver dollar), bleached Italian Ruscus, and bleached Pampas Grass (in just the right length) aren’t particularly easy to source locally. Thankfully there are many excellent sellers on Etsy that you can choose from that not only have beautiful flowers, but package them carefully to help ensure that your delicate stems arrive in tact and ready to use.

For those wondering where I purchased my stems from, here are the Etsy shop names:

Keep in mind that the shorter the distance your preserved flowers have to travel, the higher the likelihood that they will arrive in excellent condition. Enjoy!

Botanically accurate, and just gorgeous. The real touch blush roses will have you asking how it’s possible to look and feel so real.

Permanently set into this simple but perfect white ceramic compote, this centerpiece will turn your head every time you walk by it! Now those are the types of flowers I absolutely love working with!

Always excited to create pieces for my fall collection which will be available in my ETSY shop soon. I’m also currently booking custom orders for fall items, with delivery dates approximately 3-4 weeks out. If you’re interested in having something made just for you don’t hesitate to reach out, the sooner the better, to help guarantee availability of fall (or winter) stems.
