The Sweet Escape: A Farm-to-Table Beekeeping Retreat
June 2–7, 2026

For 6 days and 5 nights, we gather in the rainforest to share what we love—beekeeping, organic farm-to-table meals, and the simple beauty of slowing down. You’ll learn hands-on in the hives, create with honey and wax, and cook alongside chefs who live this lifestyle every day. Chefs joining us are: Monica Pezze, Scott Laaback, Abby Jane, Kenneth Drotar, and Lydia Kindheart.

Each day includes three organic meals, beekeeping lessons, hive product workshops, farm-to-table cooking classes, and time to rest—hot tubs, a plunge pool, and space to just breathe.

Unwind and enjoy rare moments with an amazing storyteller, Alison Yahna. We are so blessed to have her read a beautiful story she wrote and illustrated. Each day is filled with optional activities that nourish and inspire our bodies and spirits.

You’ll leave with more than memories:
~ A full recipe book from the retreat
~ Honey from Paradise Nectar Apiaries
~ A Retreat Shirt made with Organic Cotton
~ Beeswax Candles
~ Hand-Crafted Salves
~ A Facial with Erika Closter and organic skin care products from Waipunalei Ohana Farm
~ Plus your own photos with the bees

I first fell in love with honeybees long before I understood their deeper wisdom. When I opened my first hive back in 2008, I got stung fifteen times. What surprised me wasn’t the pain — it was how, moments later, I couldn’t wait to open the next hive. That’s when I knew these remarkable beings were calling me into a life of stewardship and care.

Over nearly two decades I’ve tended treatment-free hives, sold 100's of colonies & taught many new beekeepers, and learned a language written in gentle buzzes and rhythmic flight. I’ve shared this wisdom with students, families, farmers, and kindred spirits from all over — and every time someone leaves changed, grounded more deeply in themselves and the living world around them, I’m reminded that our honeybees are teachers as much as they are pollinators.

This June 2–7, 2026 at the lush Puna Rainforest Retreat, I’m inviting you to step out of busyness and into a sanctuary designed to nourish your body, deepen your intuition, and connect you to the hum of life in its richest forms.

The Sweet Escape: A Farm-to-Table Beekeeping Retreat is six days of hands-on beekeeping, farm-to-table kitchen sessions with local chefs, honeycraft workshops, nature immersion, and authentic connection with others who share a love for the land and its pollinators.

You’ll awaken to the forest, work alongside bees with intention rather than fear, create meals from living ingredients, and leave with a deeper sense of purpose — and tools to carry this way of life home with you. This isn’t a retreat about escaping the world; it’s about returning to yourself more fully. I’d be honored to share this experience with you.

Secure your space and let the bees guide you into a sweeter way of living.

Aloha blessed beings!

When I first envisioned The Sweet Escape: A Farm-to-Table Beekeeping Retreat, it was created as a nurturing space rooted in care, intuition, and connection with the land and the hive.

As I've been sharing this offering, something beautiful happened...
I began hearing from people of all genders who felt deeply called to the bees, the food, the land, and the slower, more intentional way of living this retreat represents.

So, I listened.

The Sweet Escape is now an intentionally inclusive, coed retreat- welcoming all genders.

The heart of this retreat hasn't changed. We will still enjoy farm-to-table organic meals, gentle hands-on beekeeping, deep connection with nature, rest, presence, and learning in island paradise.
This is a respectful, grounded, heart-centered space where curiosity, care, and reverence for the hive guide us.

If you feel called to the wisdom of the bees, the land, and conscious community - you belong here.

These tiny heroes are crucial for our ecosystem! The diversity of pollinators is impressive, from:

1. *Hummingbirds* to *bats*, *bees*, and *butterflies*
2. *Flies*, *ladybugs*, and *beetles* playing unexpected roles
3. Even *ants*, *snails*, and *wasps* contribute to pollination

Their collective efforts ensure:

1. Food security
2. Biodiversity
3. A resilient ecosystem

Appreciating these tiny heroes can inspire us to protect and preserve their habitats!

Bees are essential for pollinating the crops that make up our food supply. By protecting them, we help protect our food system and biodiversity. Let's give bees the support they need to keep buzzing and thriving, ensuring a healthier planet for all. 🐝🌸
