The Mansion at Mountain Lakes (formally The Villa) is a classic Mountain Lakes estate which combines chic classic architectural details with glamorous open spaces that create a romantic charm for your special day. The impeccable service, chef inspired food, and easy accessibility to northern and central New Jersey make The Mansion at Mountain Lakes one of Northern and Central New Jersey’s premier

wedding venues. Each wedding will be exclusive and is tailored to the individual, so you and your guests will experience a wedding that will always be remembered. The Mansion at Mountain Lakes is inspired by our community of Mountain Lakes which was developed in 1910. A rural woodland was transformed into a planned, suburban garden community with large stucco houses now affectionately known as “Lakers”. Hapgood was particularly influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement which we have brought into the design of The Mansion. The Grand Ballroom, affectionately named The Briarcliff, mimics the grand rooms that these Hapgood homes used for entertaining. All of the different rooms have been named in memory or honor of a Mountain Lakes landmark. Your wedding and use of The Mansion will be exclusive to you. Along with the grand ballroom, your event has the luxury of two private cocktail rooms that open up to beautifully landscaped sitting areas, along with an outdoor garden for ceremonies. In keeping with the design of the Mountain Lakes Hapgoods, our gardens are beautifully designed for entertaining. A small fish pond with waterfall enhances the garden area as well. Today in Mountain Lakes, the grand gardens have been simplified, houses have been renovated and the servants are gone. Still, the essential character of the Lakers in their environment remains with The Mansion at Mountain Lakes continuing the traditional of grand parties, excellent service and suburb food.

Our Story

The Mansion at Mountain Lakes is a classic Mountain Lakes estate which combines rustic chic classic architectural detail with glamorous open spaces that create a romantic charm for your special day. The impeccable service, chef inspired food, and easy accessibility to northern and central New Jersey make The Mansion at Mountain Lakes one of the tri-state’s premier wedding venues. These homes were built by developer, Herbert J. Hapgood, many of which remain intact. Hapgood was particularly influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement which we have brought into the design of The Mansion. The Grand Ballroom mimics the grand rooms that these Hapgood homes used for entertaining. A beautiful staircase descends from the new bridal suites into the ballroom for a grand entrance. Our outdoor gardens have water features including a waterfall that enhances the garden area. Today in Mountain Lakes, the grand gardens have been simplified, houses have been renovated and the servants are gone. Still, the essential character of the Lakers in their environment remains with The Mansion at Mountain Lakes continuing the traditional of grand parties, excellent service and suburb food.
