Let’s talk about a topic that comes up with nearly every event… EVENT INSURANCE 🥴😅
Trust me — I completely understand the frustration. You book a venue, pay for the rental, put down a $500 damage deposit, and then see that event insurance is also required… it can absolutely feel like “one more thing.” 😥
As venue owners, they truly understand that perspective, but I’d love to share why this protection matters so much — not just for the venue, but for everyone involved. 😊
When we require a $500 damage deposit, that deposit is FULLY REFUNDABLE (at A&W) as long as the contract is respected and there are no damages. This deposit is designed to help cover smaller incidents — for example:
• A guest accidentally breaks a $50 table
• Someone backs into a light pole and causes $250 in damage
In situations like those, the damage deposit usually covers the cost, and any remaining balance is refunded back to you.
But what happens when something much larger occurs?
For example — imagine someone accidentally damages a fountain with their truck valued at $10,000+ or a major structural feature of the property. Suddenly, that $500 deposit doesn’t even begin to cover the damage.
That’s where event insurance becomes essential.
Event insurance helps protect both the renter and the venue owner when unexpected accidents happen that go far beyond a standard damage deposit. Just like with home or auto insurance, claims often involve deductibles, out-of-pocket costs, repairs, and long processes. In many cases, venue owners are still responsible for contributing financially just to begin the claims process.
The reality is — accidents happen, even at the most beautiful and well-planned events.
Event insurance isn’t about adding unnecessary costs… it’s about protecting:
🤍 Your event
🤍 Your guests
🤍 The venue property
🤍 Vendors and staff
🤍 Everyone’s peace of mind
Our goal is never to create extra headaches or expenses — it’s to ensure that if something unexpected does happen, everyone is protected.
We hope this offers a little more perspective on why so many venues require it. Protecting a property that hosts life’s biggest moments is a huge responsibility, and event insurance is one of the best ways to make sure those moments stay special… even when accidents happen.— A&W Orchards located in Mount Vernon TX!
