Progress 🪴

~80% of the farm is planted and now we’re in weeding and maintenance mode as I wait for the COLOR to return. I can’t wait to be cutting and designing bouquets again! This first peony has me feeling so giddy!! ☀️ Now is the time to secure your bouquet subscription as we prep for the season! It’ll be here before you know it!

I offer 6 week subscription packages (a summer batch and a fall batch) that feature the best from the field each week! While I grow a lot of dahlias, sunflowers and zinnias I also do a mixture of over 40 different flowers, so each bouquet is truly unique and a gift! What a fun way to discover new favorites!

💕 Appreciation Post 💕

I may be the Farmers Daughter, but none of this is possible without my support system.

The OG farmer (Daddio) lends me the land (and his advice, even if I didn’t ask for it 😜).

My honey is always up for a good idea, building a new project, and cheering me on.

My nephews are always down to help with planting the annual pumpkin patch, pulling a few weeds, and picking some flowers.

Most of all, my momma is my right hand man. She helps with virtually everything and never wants to be seen in the limelight- if you’ve bought dahlia tubers, seeds or bouquets, she’s had a hand in it!

Farming is a lot of work. It’s predictable, yet not. It’s laborsome, yet relaxing. It’s exhilarating, yet exhausting. It takes a team and I’m so thankful and grateful for those on mine. 💕

Progress…

Spring is in the air and chaos is on the ground. Anyone else have a hell of a time placing fabric? It’s always a “character builder” as my mom would say 😜 Somehow through the winds of the Skagit flats and my temper she sticks it out with me to get it done. From Irrigation fixes to field measurements and markings, planting season is upon us! How’s your spring going?

Organized Chaos

That’s what farming (and life at times- let’s be real) feels like. But, that feeling of when a plan comes together. Or when you finish a big project and look at the work you’ve done and admire it. That’s what this weekend brought me. Even a seasoned gardener still gets excited putting the first few plants (or few hundred dahlia tubers) in the ground. The joy, the anticipation, the dirt everywhere… so good 👩‍🌾🪏💪🏻

Farm Club memberships are NOW OPEN! This is a “CSA” like program this year which gets you: full season bouquet subscription (no thinking about when it starts and when it ends), a u-pick pass to come join me on the farm this summer and again in the fall for pumpkins, and some exclusive Farmers Daughter merch! There are limited quantities available so don’t miss this opportunity!

If the full season isn’t your cup of tea, I will have separate launches for Summer and Fall seasons (6 week commitments) later next month! Stay tuned!

🪴🪏 DIRT THERAPY 😊☀️

Spent a full day doing farm chores to kick off the new season. Rototilled the dahlia rows to prep for amendments, weeded and staked up peonies about to bush out and bloom, planted the sweet peas (first official 2026 crop in the ground!) and prepped for tuber packing in the barn!

If I could bottle up the smell of freshly turned dirt and create a scratch and sniff photograph with it, I would treasure it all winter long. Nothing feels as good as sunny spring days breaking up dirt clods and breathing in that fresh smell from Mother Nature.
