Happy Summer Solstice! The heat is rolling in and the crops are bursting with growth 💕 Saturday morning we’ll be out and about at three different markets:

👩🏻‍🌾 Rhubarb Botanicals Farm Store - 681 Hwy 1 S Mt Vernon 9am-12pm. Fresh veggies, flower bouquets, a full farm store, with baked goods and coffee and more bakers and vendors at our market! It’s the Farm Store Crawl this weekend - visit their site to see all the participating vendors. PS we’ll be serving Lemon Dream iced tea aaaaaand yes I will bring the lambs again 🤓

🌸 Iowa City Farmer’s Market Saturday morning 7:30-12pm. Kim and Jeremy have flower bouquets, cocktail bitters (ask for a tasting!), teas, salt blends, salves, and more! Happy Pride, Iowa City!

The oats are milky! This is good medicine for our time. Milky Oats are an incredible nervous system tonic - helping us deal with stressors big and small, restoring healthy nervous system function, buffering our reactivity to stress and providing us with the resilience we need to keep showing up for ourselves, our loved ones, our community. Milky Oats can be made into a fresh herb tincture, a vinegar or glycerite infusion, or dried for tea and each preparation has its own benefits. Early next week we harvest these plump milky seed heads and prepare to send them out to multiple locations in the Midwest! Swipe to see all the host sites for our fresh milky oats pick up. The oats are milky but once a year. Order through our website - most locations have an order deadline of next Wednesday June 25th at 9am so we can package and send out this milky magical goodness.

Our July Flower CSA starts July 10th and there’s still room to join! CSA members get premium flowers that we don’t always send to market. Members also get 10% off any additional purchases for the duration of their share - that means flower bouquets and products at market and products in our farm store or online! The oats are nearing their milk stage - meaning the season of milky oats medicine-making is so very near. This deeply nourishing plant soothes our nervous systems, restores a sense of balance within us, fortifies in a time of depletion. We are offering fresh milky oats in bulk again this year so you can make your own medicine for yourself and your community. Tincturing fresh or drying for tea are both great ways to work with oat medicine 🌾

While we can’t ship to individual homes at this time, we are coordinating pick up sites in different cities throughout the Midwest. If you would be willing to host a pick up site, please reach out to me to coordinate! You would need to refrigerate the oats once received and keep them cool until a dedicated time for folks who pre-ordered come to retrieve them. We plan to ship out Wednesday, June 25th Fresh milky oats will also be available at our farm store in Mt Vernon next week and at the Iowa City Farmers Market on Saturday, June 28th. Pre-orders will open on our website later this week once we have more of our sites secured 🌾

Saturday’s market will feature the best early summer produce. 🍓 Organically grown strawberries are deeeeelicious right now and will only be around for 1 or 2 more weeks! 💐 Our flower bouquets are full of campanula, snapdragons, cornflower, bells of Ireland, and honeywort. 🥕 Abbe Hills produce will be stocked in the Farm Store - lettuce, carrots, beets, kale, chard, collards, radishes, turnips, & more! 🧄 We’ll have garlic scapes, parsley, mint, thyme, and sage from our herb farm. 🍪 and will have delectable baked treats for you, and 🌱 will be here with microgreens! Their cantaloupe microgreens are outta this world. 🪴 We potted up more native plants and still have starts for your gardens. Our Farmer’s Market and Farm Store will be open on Saturday from 9am-12pm, 681 Hwy 1 S, Mount Vernon.

You can find our flowers and herbal products at the Iowa City Farmer’s Market, too! The runs from 7:30-12pm. It’ll be a beautiful day. See you out there!

Tres mercados! At the same time! Are we crazy? I guess we’ll find out tomorrow. No matter what town you live in, get out to the farmer’s market this weekend! We’ll be representing in Mt Vernon, Iowa City, AND Cedar Rapids Saturday morning. Scroll through for what we’ll have at each place!

and Gotts Goats and Gardens join us tomorrow at our own farm in Mt Vernon. We have delectable strawberries from , we’ll have fresh produce from Abbe Hills, fresh herbs from our farm, and so so so much more in the farm store. Plant starts and dahlia tubers are on sale for this weekend only! 🪴

Jeremy returns to the with Kim to sling some cocktail bitters and flower bouquets! We’ll have fewer plant starts than in previous weeks but y’all will be glad to know we are loaded up with some of our herbal products for you there 🫖

Addy and Bryant will be at the with flowers, plant starts, and dahlia tubers. Our stall is number 12, close to Clif’s Dive Bar 🌸

Bouquets this weekend heavily feature our incredibly tall tunnel-grown snapdragons, bells of Ireland, whimsical cornflower, and other lovely spring flowers. Hardly a better way to welcome summer than with a flower bouquet from the farmer’s market.
