✨ Celebrating 10 Years of One Fine Day of North Carolina ✨
Ten years ago today, One Fine Day of North Carolina coordinated its very first wedding — and what an incredible journey it has been since then. Over the past decade, we’ve had the honor of being part of so many love stories, celebrations, and unforgettable memories. We’ve met the sweetest couples, incredible families, lifelong friends, and amazing vendor teams along the way, and for that, I will always be grateful.
As we celebrate this milestone, I can’t help but reflect on how this journey truly began.
It all started with my grandmother, Lillian. ❤️
When I was little, she coordinated nearly every wedding at our church. I was always right beside her, completely fascinated by every detail and eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of the bride. My love for weddings began long before I ever realized it would become my second career. My mom would keep me entertained with giant bridal magazines, and I would spend hours planning imaginary weddings with color palettes, flowers, and décor ideas. Later, my grandmother passed down her treasured “Wedding Workbook” to me — a book still filled with her handwritten notes and wisdom that I cherish to this day.
In January of 2016, I decided to officially begin offering my own wedding coordination services. What I didn’t realize then was how deeply connected our first wedding day would become to my grandmother’s story and legacy.
The day of that very first wedding was also the last day I saw her this side of Heaven.
She had been in poor health, and I visited her the day before to tell her all about the upcoming wedding. Though she couldn’t speak much, my dad said she was still “giving me an earful of dos and don’ts.” After the wedding ended, I stopped by to see her one more time. Less than an hour later, she earned her angel wings.
For years, I’ve believed she waited to hear about that first wedding — as if the torch had officially been passed.
So today, while I celebrate 10 years in business, I also celebrate her. Every timeline created, every ceremony coordinated, every detail perfected — a piece of her is woven into it all. Her love for weddings became my passion, and her legacy continues through every couple we serve.
