The community building is rented almost every weekend. Renters have paid for use of the building and parking lot. Do not park in the parking lot unless you check the calendar for availability.

Our appointment schedule is filling up rapidly. We recommend securing your booking promptly if you have an event scheduled in the near future.

Maxwell Acres Community Center is in the neighborhood of Maxwell Acres in Moundsville WV. It is used for various community and children activities. It is also available for rental for showers, parties, family dinners, etc. The rental is open to Maxwell Acres and Non Maxwell Acres residents.

🐾 Free Adoptions All April 🌸

We are incredibly grateful to share that Tim O’Grady with State Farm is sponsoring ALL dog and cat adoptions for the entire month of April! This truly couldn’t have come at a better time.

Over the past week alone, we’ve taken in nearly 20 dogs, including a heartbreaking neglect case, and it has placed a real strain on our shelter. Support like this makes a huge difference—for us and for the animals who need a second chance.

Now is the perfect time to adopt. With no adoption fees, beautiful spring weather, and so many amazing dogs and cats waiting for homes, your new best friend might be closer than you think. 💗

We’ve been so busy that not all of our available animals have even made it to our page—so we encourage you to stop in during business hours and meet them in person! Our staff is ready and excited to help you find the perfect match.

Reminder on pet registry. This help identify loose animals so they can be returned home. Every effort is made to find where lost animals live before turning them into the shelter for their safety.

We understand some of the homes in the Acres don't have the driveways needed for all the vehicles owned. If parking on the street is necessary, please be respectful of your neighbors and don't park in a way that blocks their driveway.
