Early this year Silent Spark Press had a contest asking for photos that show “Our Iowa” I submitted a photo taken by Conner Kelderman of the venue and we were selected as the cover photo!!! As well as shown in the book with credit given! The book hilights beautiful photos of Iowa and we were honored to be chosen! It’s a nice small bound book that can be purchased thru Silent Spark Press.

Yesterday’s wedding was absolutely gorgeous… but not without me mimicking a duck! 🦆

To the guests, it looked like a duck peacefully gliding across the water. Underneath the surface? We were paddling 100 mph battling Mother Nature!

Earlier in the week, the forecast showed rain for Saturday. As the day got closer, the chances all but disappeared. We were making final preparations outside when the skies to the south suddenly started turning dark. A quick radar check showed rain around 5:20… except five different radar apps showed five different things. 🤦‍♀️

Still hoping we could hold the ceremony outdoors,at 3:45 I quickly removed some of the décor that wouldn’t withstand heavy rain and gathered the wedding party to talk through an indoor backup plan — just in case.

At 4:10 the raindrops started to fall.

With the help of Greg, Amanda, Riley, and the groomsmen, we went into action mode. We relocated the head table, added an arch to the stage, moved the outdoor florals inside, and quickly built a second floral arrangement for an accent piece.

As the bridal party lined up, the floodgates opened!

By 4:30 the music was playing and we were heading down the aisle. Our DJ and photographer/videographer team from MDL Events/Loud Crowd were absolutely amazing and helped make the last-minute transition seamless.

Handling situations like this comes down to organization, preparation, good communication, and always having a well-thought-out backup plan. In the end, the ceremony was beautiful, the couple was married, and the guests never realized just how fast everything changed behind the scenes. We want our brides to be stress free and this is just one of the burdens we absorb.

With indoor and outdoor ceremony areas so close our brides can have the benefit of either area and with the rock under the benches we have even greater opportunities to have outdoor ceremonies.

Making dreams come true and lifetime memories one weekend at a time, And honestly… that’s exactly how we want it.

This year, we celebrated Valentine’s Day with something extra special… a wedding! ❤️

Watching Tim & Lynette say “I Do” was the perfect way to celebrate the day of love. We have known Tim for many years, and it was truly such a blessing to host their wedding at Valley View.

Lynette had to be one of the most relaxed and fun brides we’ve ever met, making the entire day feel effortless and full of love.
