Catered By Design's mission is to bring your events to life with sumptuous food and refreshing beverages presented in spectacular fashion. This also includes being a good steward of the environment. Our goal is to continually improve our sustainability practices by working closely with our vendors and partners to minimize the impact on the environment. Sam Gray, the President of Catered by design,

started in his grandmother's kitchen as just a young kid, working up into Executive Chef positions at multiple restaurants and opening a few of his own, Sam has a lifetime of experience under his belt. Deciding to settle down over 17 years ago and began his journey with Catered by Design, he has built a loyal team to create and serve thousands of food & event seeking clients in Chicago and the greater area.

🎊 We are ecstatic to have two features in the September | October 2026 Edition of Chicago Style Weddings : Spandana & Anoop’s Gorgeous, Garden Aesthetic Wedding Day and the 2026 Give My Compliments to the Chef Feature!

💍 Spandana & Anoop’s wedding day was an absolutely beautiful display of stunning florals, spectacular design, and sumptuous dishes. Their menu featured a combination of delicious dishes provided by us, Cool Mirchi and India Foodie Lounge such as Spiced Lamb Puffs, Chili Paneer Masala, Jackfruit Biryani, and Banana Bread Tiramisu. Their big day came together thanks to a stellar collective of industry professionals ~ we are thrilled to have worked with and be featured alongside them!

🍾 And we are thrilled that Carlos Orozco, our Executive Chef, got to shine once more in the Give My Compliments to the Chef feature where he highlighted one of our brand new dishes being added to our repertoire: Lemon Basil Ricotta Salmon topped with a lemon cream sauce served over Turnip Purée and accompanied by a Tricolor Quinoa Timbale.

☀️What screams summer more than Aperol and a margarita? The Aperol Coconut Margarita is the pinnacle of a summer cocktail for those who think they don’t like Aperol. 

🍸 We’re proud to feature Inspiro Tequila | Woman-Owned + Additive-Free on our Platinum Beverage Package as a woman-owned company that crafts incredible tequilas with no additive flavors – and it’s gluten free! The tequila blends nicely into this cocktail and pairs well with our Coconut Shrimp (of course) hors d’Oeuvres and our Shrimp & Scallop entrée for the main course.

🍹 Ingredients:
🍸 1½ oz Inspiro Tequila Blanco
🍊 ¾ oz Aperol
🥥 1 oz coconut purée
🍋‍🟩 ¾ oz lime juice
🍊 1 orange wheel, for garnish

🎬 Directions:
Combine tequila, Aperol, coconut purée, and lime juice over ice in a shaker. Shake well. Then strain into a rocks glass over ice, and garnish with an orange wheel. Enjoy!
