A Thank You from Moose Charities for a share of our Santa Bucks. Thank you all for your generous donation during the Santa Season. You can see they are going to good causes based around children. This picture is of some of the kids from Mooseheart at the Breakfast with Santa in Morris this past year.

Before I get into anymore about the Santa Season, I must first thank my loving and understanding wife and family for allowing me to
do this each year. With me doing Santa leaves
Pretty much everything else to do with Christmas to her. Thanks to my daughters for
picking up my slack! I know how I feel and know she probably feels about the same. Anyway, thanks Babe! Love you so very much!

Well, with the exception of one after the season visit as a special favor on the afternoon of the 27th, this Santa Season is a wrap. I managed to stay somewhat healthy living on EmergenC and Zinc tablets. The voice is giving out a bit after a few long days back to back.

This year was comprised of a total of 68 individual classrooms, corporate parties, non profit organizations, Fire Departments, National Guard Units, bookstores, photo shoots, breakfasts and donuts with Santa and multiple home visits. Best I can figure, I saw somewhere around 1650 kids and many others in stores, malls, sidewalks and parking lots. As I have explained, this year has seen some of the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Santa’s
heart has swelled multiple times hearing children ask for something for others instead of themselves and humbled by kids asking for basic shoes, clothing and things most of us take
for granted. And to the one little guy just asking for someone to hug him, I hope Santa’s wasnt the only one you received.

To all you you that booked Santa appearance this year, Thank You! All of your donations will be put to good use. I’ll post a follow up soon on where all the donations land. Hope to see you all again next year

And with droopy eyes, sore back and knees
and a full heart, Merry Christmas to
All and To All a Good Night

Marseilles Library was the first on the docket this morning. 40 little ones including three very special guests. Thank you for bringing the girls over, Casey! Especially enjoyed holding Stevie, she’s a keeper. Stella and Stori are always a hoot for me. They are all too cute.

Then on to Ottawa Pavillion to deliver gifts to the residents. Thank you to Christine and all the other elves. May the season bless you all multi-fold. You are Angels!!!

Then down to Streator for a home vist with Brendan and his family. What a fun kid . Shared some silly jokes and a couple of silly trivia questions, which he was all over. Hope he had as much fun as me!

Merry Christmas everyone!i

December 22. Time is flying by. Had a couple hours this morning, so I posted I’d be in Washington Park from 9-11 am for anyone that missed seeing Santa at his hut during Chris Kringle Market weekends. Had about 60 kids, a couple handful of adults and two dogs. One dog was Ottawa Police Therapy dog Rookie. He’s a good boy!

Then ventured to Pulaski Avenue in Chicago and was Santa during a non profit toy give away. I figured there were close to 650 kids and another 500 or more adults. A straight 4 hours of pictures. Boy does my face hurt! Go ahead take the shot. I know it’s been killing you too! Anyway, a busy day and just two more to go.

Come see me at Marseilles library tomorrow at 10 for story time with Santa.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Story time with Santa at Reddick Library this morning. Lots of kids listened to two books and had a chance to meet and take pictures with Santa. I hope a few of Santas friends will post some pictures in comments below. Fun times!

Headed to Prairie Fox Books in downtown Ottawa at 1:00 for another story time. Had a nice turnout. Maybe 35-40 kids. Not really certain. Easy to lose count, but close enough. Each of them received a new book from Prairie
Fox Books. They have a nice little store downtown and give lots back to the community. Stop by and pick up some reading material! Stood out in front of the store for sometime talking to people and taking pictures when asked. All fun for me!

On to a home visit with 3 young ladies. Took
Pictures and visited with them for a bit. Scored nice plate cookies. Thank Aubrie, Danie and Jolie. Merry Christmas to you all.

Then on to another home visit with five little ones. We Ho! Ho! Ho’ed and had conversations with them all. Well, except Nolan who’s only four months old. Wishing Croix, Wlliow, Andrew
And Landry a very Merry Christmas!

Another day in the books! Merry Christmas everyone!

Spent the morning at McKinley School in Ottawa with the Life Skills bunch. Worked with Photographer Rhonda Johnson for the first time. Got picture with every student with no meltdowns. A very easy morning for sure. Thanks Rhonda! An absolute pleasure working with you to get the best photos with the kids!

On to Streator for a home visit with three little ones this afternoon. 5 year old and two almost three years olds. We had some very important conversations about being on the nice list, what kind of Christmas cookies they liked and favorite colors. All three got to take pics with Santa as well as the grownup kids too! They each got a new doll from Santa’ magic bag. What a great time!

Another Santa appearance at the Ottawa YMCA. Pictures with Santa, crafts and snacks for
all attendees. Each child had an opportunity to dig into Santa’s Magic Bag and find a small gift
from Santa himself. That always proves to be popular.

Now on to Peru to close out the day with a group of kid in kindergarten and First Grade that all play basketball together. The parents arranged a Christmas Party for them and Santa was included. I think I heard there were 16 kids that all got personal time with Santa, some nice pictures and of course some silly ones too! Santa’s Bag worked it’s magic once again, producing a Hot Wheels car that the entire group had been looking for to no avail. A fun group of kids and parents make Santa’s work easy. Thank you all for inviting me and
for your generous donations. I will make sure they all go to a good cause. Merry Christmas everyone!

Pleae fee feee to post any pictures from today in the comments. I love to have record of the fun times. Thanks everybody!
