We have the honor of introducing the new Mr. and Mrs. Westphal!
Lex and Kyle: high school sweethearts, farm kids, and two of the kindest souls you’ll ever meet. I’ve known them for years, but through the wedding planning process I got to see their love and partnership in an even deeper way. Their engagement session was filled with so much laughter, it was clear their wedding would be just as full of joy.
Lex carried a stunning vision for her day, and Kyle was right there beside her, helping bring it all to life. With the love and hard work of their families, Westphal Farms was transformed into a breathtaking venue. (I may have tried to convince Kyle's dad to let me use it as a wedding venue all the time). Church pews were perfectly lined to face the cornfields, framing a beautiful arch as the backdrop. And the shed—once filled with farm equipment—became a boho-chic venue, complete with cascading white drapes, a cozy dance floor, and thoughtful details at every turn.
Then came the storm. After weeks of dry skies, the rain poured down in a thirty-minute downpour that changed their plans—but only made the story sweeter. Guests gathered inside the shed as the dance floor became the aisle, its cream-and-light-brown checkered pattern leading the way. Clear glass jugs filled with pampas grass lined the path, soft and romantic against the rustic backdrop. What could have been a setback became pure magic: intimate, unforgettable, and uniquely theirs.
It may not have been the wedding they first pictured, but it was everything their love deserved and more.
Congratulations, Lex and Kyle, it was an honor to capture the beginning of your forever.
