Yesterday started as a beautiful evening celebrating our T-Ball players and ended with one of the scariest moments we have ever experienced.
First and foremost, we want to say how incredibly sorry we are to everyone who was there. We know many families were frightened, and we have been replaying the events over and over in our minds ever since.
To clarify, all of our inflatables were properly secured and heavily staked down, as safety has always been our top priority. We continuously monitored the weather throughout the day, and our weather apps showed the storms arriving later in the night.
Unfortunately, the weather changed incredibly fast.
As soon as we felt wind and the first raindrops begin to fall, Mike and I immediately ran toward the inflatables to start getting children off and shutting everything down. Thankfully, every child was off the inflatable before it lifted into the air. For that, we are beyond grateful.
What happened next felt like it came completely out of nowhere. Within moments, what had been a beautiful evening turned into a dangerous situation that none of us expected.
Last night was a powerful reminder of just how quickly weather conditions can change and how unpredictable Mother Nature can be. While we are thankful beyond words that no one was seriously injured, we recognize how much worse the situation could have been.
Our hearts have been heavy ever since. We have barely slept, and we are still shaken by everything that happened. What was intended to be a fun celebration and a good deed for our community quickly became one of the most terrifying experiences of our lives.
At this point, we honestly do not know what the future holds for our inflatable business. We are taking time to process everything, evaluate what happened, and determine what comes next. Right now, our focus is simply on being thankful that everyone is safe.
To every parent, child, coach, volunteer, and community member who was there, thank you for your understanding, grace, and support. We are incredibly thankful for the people who stepped in to help during the chaos and for the many messages checking on us afterward.
Most importantly, we are grateful that everyone made it home safely.
We will continue reflecting on this experience and doing everything possible to learn from it. Please keep all of the families, volunteers, and everyone involved in your thoughts as we work through the emotions of what happened.
