πΌοΈ Artist Reception featuring Susan Brown
ποΈ Saturday, Sept. 16th
π°οΈ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
We are thrilled to host the talented Susan Brown, an artist with a rich history of creativity and passion for her craft. Encouraged by her mother, Susan's artistic journey began early, and her talent was recognized at just twelve years old when she was awarded Student Artist of the Year in Ohio.
After relocating to California, Susan continued to refine her artistry while balancing a career in technology. It was only after leaving her corporate role that she fully embraced painting as her profession. Susan's work draws inspiration from acclaimed artists like Richard Diebenkorn, Henri Matisse, Alice Neel, and John Singer Sargent. She describes herself as a colorist, seamlessly blending reality and imagination in her pieces.
Susan works with acrylic, oil, and watercolor, each medium lending its unique qualities to her creations. Her process is meticulous, involving careful planning, preliminary sketches, and color studies. Layers of paint and varnish contribute to the luminous quality of her finished works.
During the challenges of the pandemic, Susan dedicated herself to the study of portraiture, honing her skills with the Pacific Art League in Palo Alto, CA. Her art has been a beacon of strength and connection during these trying times, leading to exciting opportunities like the A.I.R. Vallauris artist residency in France, where she'll be part of an international arts community in September 2022.
π¨We invite you to experience Susan's captivating artwork firsthand, including masterpieces like "Hidden Valley IV For Moher and Son, CA Highway 1" and "Davenport Bluffs".
Join us for an afternoon filled with beauty, conversation, and inspiration. See you there! π¨β¨
