Did you know during early August, pollinator activity is at its peak with honeybees, bumblebees, solitary bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds actively visiting flowers for nectar and pollen.

Summer represents the height of floral abundance, providing plentiful nectar and pollen sources. In August, the following pollinators are commonly observed:

Honeybees (Apis mellifera): Busy collecting nectar for honey production and visiting a wide range of flowers, including native wildflowers and garden plants.

~Bumblebees (Bombus spp.): Colonies are at their largest populations; workers forage extensively on summer-blooming plants ๐Ÿ

~Solitary bees: Various native bees, such as mining bees and leafcutter bees, complete one to multiple generations throughout summer and actively forage ๐Ÿ

~Butterflies: Species like monarchs and swallowtails are prevalent, feeding on nectar and searching for suitable host plants for laying eggs ๐Ÿฆ‹

~Hummingbirds: These birds are attracted to brightly colored tubular flowers like bee balm, lantana, and pentas, feeding heavily during summer months๐Ÿฆโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ
