Tyger Pines Outdoor Weddings

Tyger Pines Outdoor Weddings Working horse farm that transforms into a romantic backdrop for weddings and receptions afternoon and Mon morning.

Our 90-acre Arabian horse farm was established in 1992 and we began hosting weddings in 2003. Our brides are allowed to use the farm for six days, Wed-Mon to decorate, have the wedding, rehearsal, and bridal luncheon and remove decorations on Sun. Our home is available for bride and bridesmaids to dress, have hair and make-up done and also have a bridal luncheon that Sat. The barn apartment is avail

able for the groom and groomsmen to dress for the wedding. We have 5 different outdoor sites for the ceremony. The reception can be held in our covered arena that holds 300 people. The rehearsal party can be in one of the barns or outside with fire pit and lawn furniture with citronella torches. The bridal luncheon can be on the screened back porch that has tables and chairs which will accommodate up to 20. The covered arena ceremony site is decorated with an abundance of party lights. Having done weddings for 15 years we have found that it is more agreeable to the brides if we give them a $200.00 certificate to Event Rentals and they can pick out the color and type of chairs they wish to use at the wedding. The farm is covered with hanging ferns and baskets we purchase from Roebuck Greenhouses for our weddings. We allow our brides to have their save-the-date,engagement,and bridal portrait done here at the farm. We also have a great deal of farm props, such as old wagons, wheat straw squares as this is a working horse farm. We have ample parking and provide 3 or 4 men with golf carts to assist the guests before and after the wedding. Because this is an outdoor venue and we want our weddings to be special we only do 8 or 9 weddings a year- the month of May,the first weekend of June, the last two weeks in Sept and the first two weeks in Oct.

Last month I talked about photographers and listed some very good ones our brides have used. This month I want to talk about our favorite caterer - Tug Rogers. Her presentation is beautiful, her staff are so polite and helpful to the guests, but , most of all, her food is DELICIOUS! I always ask Tommy and Dennis who their favorite caterer is here at the farm. There is only one answer - "Tug". Our header is a photo of part of our summer kitchen our brides use as "day-of" bridesmaids luncheon site,

On this date 27 years ago, I married my high school sweetheart, 2nd Lt Thomas L Ticktin, USAF fighter pilot. We spent 27 years in the Air Force including a Vietnam tour and 9 years in Germany. Had no idea when we started out we would end up on my mother's farm raising horses and hosting weddings.
