We had such a fun (and messy) kokedama class at last night! In between all of the soil, water, and moss I forgot to take pictures of our fabulous group so thank you to Teresa Jerger Schroeder for sharing a pic of her super cute kokedama hanging out on the shores of Lake Erie!

I often have people ask if I can include specific flowers or items and then kind of wince, like they’re asking too much…I once told a bride that if she wanted a banana tree in every corner I’d move heaven and earth before admitting defeat.
She loved gardening and geraniums; it didn’t occur to me to include geraniums until I found myself not loving any combo I picked out of the cooler at . What really rallied my determination was Dan smirking and telling me I was nuts.
I’ve said before that my favorite thing about funeral arrangements is having the opportunity to create something that encompasses who they were/are while also adding my own little flair to it.

Grad party centerpieces, but make em sportsy…
I spent several months deciding how to make these super cool; my favorite (and most time consuming) has to be the baseball! How many mini carnations does it take to cover a 3” foam ball? A lot. Also, peep the football going through the goalpost! It’s the little things…

It’s grad party season and there’s nothing I like more than a good theme! This grad is majoring in Agronomy (crop science) so I opted for plants over floral arrangements and brought the razzle dazzle with some custom field signs, soil sample bags, and tiny soil test reports! !

Do I mock up every event? No…that’s not cost effective. BUT sometimes it’s necessary to get all parties on the same page; I commonly create a vision in my head but can’t always convey it in words. My table is much smaller than the reception tables will be, but the bride can get a general idea of what things will look like!
Also, can we just take a moment for these peonies? It’s my favorite, short-lived, season!
