She's done...I think! 😂 This has been my most challenging design so far. I'm ready to submit my application for an art exhibit featuring fiber artists. Thanks for following along as I got the individual paper flowers made over the past several weeks. I'll keep you posted if/when it is selected. Now to give it a title, write my bio and resume....ugh! That may be harder than making the flowers!

Learning to trust the process: I've been learning some new techniques lately that are challenging me in a good way!

The leaves in the first picture aren't bad...but they are "flat". The second picture is the same branch with some yellow pastel powder and some gouache paint used to add depth and accents. I'm hoping these work well in my project...one more piece to go!

Needed a few sprigs of Phlox for my latest project to add some visual interest.

How many tiny petals you ask? About 150 hand cut petals dyed with alcohol ink. I'm almost ready to pull everything together and share....stay tuned! 😊

The next flower in this paper flower project is the wild rose! Believe it or not Cinnamon and Tumeric are critical in making this one look realistic.

I've heard that some might like to see more pictures during the creation phases. So here goes! Today I'm working on a Collerette Dahlia that will be part of a bigger bouquet I have in the works. I'll do my best to snap pictures of each of the flowers as things begin to take shape and hopefully continue to improve my photography skills along the way as well!
