they got married TWICE...

katie & jack. one of the most gracious and loving couples you’ll ever meet.

when covid hit, Katie & Jack said “screw it” and eloped in Arkansas! it was the most stunning thing - surrounded by greenery and hills. so intimate and sweet. But when August 2020 rolled around, they went forward with their BIG celebration with friends and family!
At their ceremony, instead of vows, they did something SO special.
Since they were already married, they decided to write words of affirmation letters for each other. Words they spoke to publicly say “this is who i married. this is their character. this is how they love me.”

what a sweet idea! to publicly affirm their spouse in front of everyone present.

two GEMS.

m & d are joyful, hilarious, kind, full of laughter, tender, and overall SO DANG FUN. the first time we met was at the session, yet it felt like we’ve been friends for YEARS.

to say i absolutely adore my couples is such an understatement. getting to come alongside a couple, get to know them, and capture who THEY ARE is one of my greatest joys.

my job is more than snapping a photo. it’s personality and laughter and timeless smiles.

but photos themselves aren’t much... it’s the moments and memories behind each image that make them SO special.

moral of the story:
1. madison and davis are gems !!
2. love my job !!
3. i’m glad i get to capture personality and expression instead of just boring prom poses.

3 BRIDAL SUITE TIPS

✨Choose a getting ready space that has great natural light! Windows are your BFF. Natural light is beautiful and helps us avoid turning on yellow lights 🥴

✨Keep it clean!! Designate a corner of the room for allll the STUFF. Shoes, purses, clothes, etc! There’s going to be a lot of stuff, but when you have a designated space for it, it works WONDERS!

✨Book an airbnb if you have to! Depending on where you’re getting married, some venues have small, tight, badly lit getting ready spaces. An airbnb can be a wonderful option!!

I hope this is helpful for you when planning your wedding day and prepping you and your bridesmaids to have a clutter-free space 🙌🏼

Anyone remember mall family photos?

Growing up, my mom took us kids to Picture People in the mall… anyone else remember this? MAN was it an ordeal. Picture a trail of 6 kids walking through the mall, all dressed up, the 2 youngest likely fussy and tugging on the bow in their hair… all to get a picture with a white backdrop of everyone smiling while the camera lady waved a stuffed animal around to get everyone’s attention.
needless to say, it was an EVENT.

I knew from the start that I wanted my work to capture more than smiling faces.
I wanted to capture LIFE.

To capture the parent with their child.
To capture laughter.
To capture siblings all together.
