When budgets tighten, what makes an incentive trip worth protecting?

That’s one of the questions Convention South explored in its latest look at incentive travel trends, tapping industry experts, including Sutton Planning’s own Taylor Fain, to weigh in.

Currently the most-read article on ConventionSouth’s website, it’s clearly a conversation the industry is having right now.

Taylor shared what we’re seeing firsthand: companies are being more intentional with their investment, while the value of incentive travel remains strong. The shift is toward thoughtful choices - protecting the experiences that matter most, allowing more room for personalization and free time, and designing programs that resonate with an increasingly diverse group of qualifiers.

What a night, Birmingham!

The Sutton Showcase was created to bring great people together, and seeing that come to life was pretty special.

We met some in person for the very first time, shared laughs with those we speak to almost daily, and spent time with clients and friends whose relationships with Sutton go back decades. There were fabulous giveaways, inspiration from our incredible travel partners, and, most importantly, meaningful conversations that will continue well beyond the evening.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, our partners who helped make the Showcase possible, and our Sutton Planning team for bringing so much warmth and energy to the room.

The Sutton Showcase is officially two days away… which means the details are finalized, the team is ready, and apparently taking one good event team photo required a few attempts.

A little behind-the-scenes peek from our final team prep for Thursday.

When we plan an event, we take the details seriously. We think through the experience from beginning to end - how people are welcomed, who we want to introduce to our partners, how the room should flow, and all the little things that make an event feel effortless.

But we also believe the best experiences have a little personality behind them.

We genuinely enjoy working together, we have a lot of fun doing what we do, and as the outtakes will confirm, there is usually plenty of laughter along the way.

That’s exactly the energy we hope our guests feel at The Sutton Showcase this Thursday: warm, welcoming, thoughtfully planned, and fun!

We can’t wait to welcome our guests and incredible travel partners to Birmingham and show them what we’ve been working on.
