🌸 PAY IT FORWARD SUNDAY! 🌸

Sometimes the smallest act of kindness can make the biggest difference in someone’s day. ❤️

You don’t have to spend money to make someone smile. Hold a door open, check on a neighbor, give someone a compliment, or simply offer a little encouragement.

Here’s my challenge for today: Do one unexpected act of kindness for someone. It doesn’t have to be big. Just something that reminds them there are still good people in this world. 💕

🌸 Nobody Told Me THIS About Being a Flower Farmer! 😂🌻

When I decided to start a flower farm, I pictured beautiful rows of flowers, butterflies floating around, and me happily picking bouquets on a sunny morning.

Well… nobody told me the rest of the story! 😂

🌼 Nobody told me I’d spend more time pulling weeds than picking flowers.

🐜 Nobody warned me that fire ants would consider my flower field their personal property.

🌻 Nobody mentioned that I’d plant 10 seeds and get 100 volunteers the following year… but the expensive seeds I babied would refuse to grow!

💐 Nobody told me I’d get emotionally attached to a flower and then feel guilty cutting it.

🌸 And nobody warned me that I’d come inside covered in dirt, sweating like crazy, with leaves in my hair, wondering how I managed to get so filthy just growing something pretty!

But here’s what nobody told me that matters most…

I’d fall in love with every muddy, sweaty, unpredictable minute of it. ❤️

Three years into this adventure, I’m still learning, still making mistakes, and still loving my little flower farm.

Confessions of a Flower Farmer! 😂🌻

I’ve learned a lot in three years of growing flowers, but one thing I’ve discovered is that Mother Nature doesn’t always read the instructions!

You plant something carefully, water it, baby it, and check on it every day… and it dies.

Meanwhile, a flower you didn’t plant pops up in the middle of nowhere and grows like it owns the place! 🤣

Sometimes I think the secret to gardening is to pretend you don’t care!

🌻 Southern Garden Wisdom — Did Grandma Get It Right? 🌻

If you grew up in the South, chances are you heard a few old sayings about gardening and predicting the weather!

Here’s one I’ve heard for years:

🌼 When goldenrod blooms, the first frost is just six weeks away! ❄️

Or when the spider lilies bloom, the first frost is just six weeks away!

Now, whether Mother Nature actually follows that schedule is another story! 😂

But I love these old sayings that have been passed down through generations.

So let’s have a little fun!

🌸 Wednesday Quick Fact! 🌸

Did you know you should wait until a zinnia flower head is brown, dry, and crisp before collecting seeds?

If the flower head is still green or soft, the seeds inside may not be mature enough to grow next year. 🌱

Once the head is completely dry, pull it apart and look for the plump, arrow-shaped seeds attached near the base of the petals.

A little patience now can mean a whole lot of flowers next summer! 💐

This is my third year flower farming, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it… well, almost every minute. 😂

Lisianthus.

I can’t even tell you how many lisianthus seeds I’ve planted over the past three years. I absolutely LOVE them—they’re gorgeous! But after all those seeds, all that babying and all that waiting, I’ve had a grand total of about TWO plants actually bloom. 🤦‍♀️😂

Maybe I’m trying too hard!

Next year will be Year 4, and I’ve decided to give lisianthus ONE. LAST. CHANCE. After that, we may have to break up. 😂

So if anybody has a well-kept family secret for growing lisianthus, now would be a wonderful time to share it! 🌱😂

🌻 Garden confession time! 😳

There’s always that flower you’re dying to plant…but what happens when you plant it and it decides to take over your whole garden? 😂

My confession? Mexican sunflower!

Two years ago I planted about 6. They grew and bloomed beautifully, but I discovered they weren’t great cut flowers. So this year I decided, no Mexican sunflowers!

Or so I thought. 🤣

I didn’t plant ONE SINGLE SEED this year, but they popped up in 6 of my 8 flower rows! They took over corners of the garden and apparently decided they were staying whether I liked it or not. They were so big and tall!

🌱 Now it’s your turn—what plant did you grow once and swear you’d NEVER grow again?

Bonus points if it came back anyway!
