NEW INVENTORY ALERT!

Leeann + Toby had this amazing seating chart made so that they could write letters to their guests telling them exactly how much they loved and appreciated their presence. Then she gave it to US!

A lot of our decor inventory comes from past MM clients who either sell or donate things for our future couples to use. This saves so much time because they aren't having to post and haggle with someone on Facebook Marketplace just to have to load up and drive an hour away to deliver it. This also saves MY clients a ton of money and stress trying to source and customize decor on their own.

So BIG thank you to Mr and Mrs Duncan!!

We're calling these two, Little Duncan ($100) and Big Duncan ($200) and they can be customized to hold letters, pictures or classic seating chart cards. Honestly, you bring me an idea and I'll figure out how to make it work!

Available to MM West Branch only

Did it start raining in the middle of Brittany + Emily's wedding ceremony? Yes, it did.

Did that ruin their day or stop them from getting married?
Hell no!

Washington is infamous for being rainy, it's sprinkling even now as I write this in Anacortes and will likely clear up before I'm done with this post.

But rain shouldn't be feared, it should be celebrated and embraced AND PLANNED FOR.

So, how did we plan for this back in August?
1. Guests were given plastic ponchos, I carry a few in my emergency kit for couples, grandmas and photographers especially.

2. Our reception area was covered. Your guests can sit in the rain or sprinkle for a few minutes. Your ceremony is typically 15-30 minutes long (unless you're having a full mass of course)
So being exposed to the elements for the ceremony, really isn't THAT big of a deal; as long as they have somewhere dry and warm to go afterwards.

3. We also have clear umbrellas in our inventory for you to rent! Priced at $15 per, your guests can use them to move from ceremony to reception and stay pretty dry. But if I'm being totally honest, the people of Washington are so good about embracing a light shower that locals often make fun of those who use them! 😂

Moral of the story, don't fear the rain babe. You'll drive yourself crazy trying to control the weather! Just plan for it and you'll be alright.

One of my most colorful and unique weddings this year: The Gonzales Wedding at Maplehurst Farms on June 27th!

When Ella, Mason and I were planning, we used words like "Italian" "Rustic" "Countryside" "Winery" and "Cozy" to describe what they were trying to bring to life. And we absolutely delivered!

Using colored budvases, faux fruit and mismatched plates, this reception felt like Sunday Dinner at your Nonna's house. Just proof that you don't have to do what everyone else is doing and that you really SHOULDN'T.

The majority of tabletop decor is in our inventory which we will be showcasing later on this month and available to rent for ALL your events! (Candlestick holders + LED Tapered Candles, Colored Budvases, Table Number, Faux Fruit)

Gonzales Vendor Team:
- venue + dishes
- bride + groom florals and floral buckets
- photo + photobooth

- linens

- cocktail hour band

- bridal party, guest and ceremony florals, decor, planning + coordination

There is SO. MUCH. PRESSURE. on couples to have the PERFECT wedding day. and I have to be the one to tell you, your wedding day won't be PERFECT.

Sorry, let me change my tone to make sure you hear me.

Your wedding day won't BE perfect.

I say this with so much love.

Your hair might fall.
Your pants might rip.
Your mom might be late.
Your dad might forget his tie.
Your best friend might spill on you.

The probability of having absolutely NO accidents or incidents on your wedding day is slim to none. and that's not me trying to be mean, it's just me trying to be REAL with you.

PERFECT weddings aren't REAL.
Look at these photos.
The couple laughing as her dad gives his toast.
The bride wiping her tears because she just can't hold them in anymore.

THESE are real moments. THESE are the best moments. THESE are the moments you're going to remember.

So do yourself a favor, get off social media for a minute, sit down with your fiancé and take a few breaths. Talk about what each of you actually wants from your wedding. Really get to the root of those choices.
And LISTEN. COLLABORATE.
STOP TRYING TO BE PERFECT.
STOP TRYING TO COMPETE WITH SOCIAL MEDIA.
Stop trying to make your wedding anything other than what it needs to be: an authentic celebration of love.

And for the love of god, hire professional vendors please! They will make your wedding LOOK and FEEL perfect.

- All my love,
M

There is nothing quite like being able to get a fully empty ceremony shot AND a fully empty reception shot. 👏

The details, time and quick/hard work that goes into making sure this can happen only comes from a real group of pros.

The venue and catering team has to make sure the tables and chairs are set up. They are also responsible for place settings most of the time.

The planner or coordinator has to work quickly bringing the decor plan to life and check that everything is in place before the media team shows up.

The photographers have to be on time with their timeline as well, ensuring that they get these special photos right before the guests begin to arrive.

I can tell you from experience that once we get these shots, we all collectively let out a sigh of relief.

So this is me, a professional wedding planner, telling (more like begging) you to work with professionals. Your wedding isn't going to BE perfect, no one's is. But is can FEEL and LOOK perfect if you have a fully stocked team of pros who have your back no matter what.

I recommend the following vendor team with my whole heart by the way 🥰

These two lovebirds were connected at the hip all day long and honestly, it was EVERYTHING! They snuck away for a little rooftop moment during sunset to soak it all in and I couldn't have been more proud. Your wedding day goes SO fast! Even for my team! As soon as we get everything set up and ready to go, it's already time to tear it all back down again! So take all those slower moments you need. We'll save your spot on the dancefloor and call you back when it's time to cut the cake!

Welcome!

This has been a dream of mine for YEARS! I have always told myself i would wait for more free time, wait for more start up money, wait for the RIGHT time and then I got SICK of waiting! So here I am, pursuing my dream of becoming an event planner. The whole dream is to one day own a chain of wedding venues in several different states, but right now I’m just taking a small step in the right direction, towards my goals and away from my fears. I have to admit that this is a little nerve-racking but I’m mainly just excited to see what the future holds for my business, my family and my personal growth.

I have been in the wedding circuit for about 5 years now, doing hair, makeup and even helping plan and coordinate a few weddings. I planned my entire wedding on my own as well! Working in the industry, I learned a LOT of things I could never have learned by just sitting in a classroom or at a computer screen. I also made a ton of great connections with venues, vendors and clients, that I now consider to be my friends.

I also have experience planning corporate events! I worked at Walmart as a Personnel Coordinator and event planning/associate engagement was my main job! I organized holiday celebrations, trainings, orientations, meetings and much more! I learned how to be FUN but also professional. I learned to always have a back up plan in place and never let them see you sweat! It was a really great experience, that taught me a LOT!

I am looking forward to growing my business, meeting new vendors, cultivating new relationships with clients and touring new venues! I hope that you keep “MASTERED MOMENTS by Maliah” in mind when planning your next wedding, baby shower, birthday party, corporate event or any of the other important moments in your life!
