One night dad started talking about a book with lots of road trips in and around the Great Smoky Mountains, I then realized I had been to most of them. And then he continued to talk about how he wished he could go and maybe see some elk.
Well, that’s how our adventure started, and this is how it went. I told them to come with us, sleep in the tent. He laughed and said I’ll pass. So instead I said come met and Bryn for breakfast. Told them to take interstate 40 to exit 7 turn right and look for us. After we ate, we headed to drop there truck off at the rest area. Rode some trails and forest roads totaling 90 miles of dirt, to finally find some elk as the day was ending. I can’t tell you everything but mom will definitely not forget this trip. So after we found the elk we stopped by the creek, skipped some rocks and had some maple spam and homemade banana bread from my lovely wife Bethany Griffin Then headed back to the rest area to pickup there truck and we both headed home.
