🙏 THANK YOU 🙏
🎈 WHAT A WEEKEND 🎈
Our third annual Wine Balloons and Tunes at WindVineyards SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE is in the books and we have a lot of thanks to give:
🍷 THANKS to the ‼️2000 people‼️ who came out to enjoy the event!
🍇 We appreciate you supporting us, spending your hard earned money, and rolling with the punches the weather threw us. A special thanks to everyone who was understanding of the weather on Saturday. We did the absolute best we could with the hand of cards we were dealt and 98% of people appreciated that and understood that we are not God and cannot control the weather.
🍷 THANKS to Glenwood Energy!
🍇 For the 3rd consecutive year these guys have stepped up to provide propane service on the weekends for this event, without which it would not be possible! They are great community minded folks and we appreciate them!
🍷 THANKS to the balloonists!
🍇 Most hot air balloon pilots would have taken the easy road, but on Saturday when the winds were still too fast for balloons but they saw the forecast worsening, they made the decision to inflate balloons ASAP to provide all the experience they could. These guys took some risk and put their balloons in harms way to push the envelope getting them up and kept them up as long as they could until the wind (literally) blew them down. We appreciate their efforts!
🍷 THANKS to our amazing staff!
🍇 Almost no one—literally—realizes the stress and struggles that go into big events, especially when you do them week after week like we do. 🤦♂️ Dale, Blake, Josh, and other folks go above and beyond to make these events possible!
🍷 THANKS to the bands!
🍇 SupaFly Five, Phat Boyz Band, & Big Matt & The Time Machine provided a musical line up full of talent, energy, and fun! We appreciate them all!
🍷 THANKS to the 1-2% of folks who think I am God and control the weather! 😂
🍇 I am flattered that you think I am omnipotent, but I must disappoint you and confess I do not control the winds or the rains! 😬
🍷 THANKS to the good Lord for the weather!
🍇 Yes, it was a little muddy, a little wet, a little windy, and we saw more lightning than balloons on Saturday…BUT, for the entire week and all the way until Friday morning we were supposed to have high winds and almost 2 inches of rain. We will gladly take sunny, a little muddy, and some wind gusts that allowed most of the balloon activities to happen! We see the glass as half full and not half empty and realize that while the weather was not perfect, we have seen FAR worse!
🍷 THANKS to the community for the chatter!
🍇 Folks posted pictures and videos of the balloons flying all over Facebook Saturday and that helped us get the word out! We got over 1000 “likes” on our post sharing some of your photos of the balloons flying!
🍷 THANKS to everyone who purchased so much WINE!
🍇 We are humbled and flattered at how much you guys love our wine! At this pace, we may need to plant more grapes to support the need! Stay tuned for some wine tasting events as the weather cools!
🍷 THANKS to the attendees that helped us Saturday night when the storm hit!
🍇 As the storm suddenly rolled in, we began scrambling as tents tore apart and chaos began! Several folks at the event pitched in to help us instead of running for their cars—that is why we love this community!
We are thankful!
We are blessed!
This event continues to grow year after year!
We appreciate all of you!
